​Hello All,

Spring Concert - Everyone is invited and encouraged to come out and show your support for all of our students Friday, May 1st in the Gym and Auditorium.  The whole concert will begin at 6pm in the gym with our Winterguards and Indoor Percussion groups.  Then we will transfer to the Auditorium to hear the rest of our groups at 7pm.  This is a totally FREE event.  Please come out and enjoy the year in review from all of our wonderful students.

Band Banquet - The Charles Bud Bell Band Banquet is Saturday, May 9th at the MHS Gym. There will be social time which will include music, dance floor, photo opportunities and lots and lots of food and drink. This is FREE for all BAND Students. If the students would like to bring a friend or date, who is not in band to the social time, and they are a student, they must purchase a ticket to help with the cost of extra food and drinks for guests. If any adult would like to attend the social time, they must purchase a ticket for them as well. Again to cover the cost of extra food. Students tickets are $5 and parent tickets are $10. Please plan to dress formal/semi-formal.


Band Day - On Tuesday May 5th, we will welcome all of our potential new members of the MB&G.  Students will need to wear summer uniforms (Band shirt and blue jeans).  All students will need to report to the band room at 1:30 to grab your marching and concert instruments then go to the auditorium.  We will practice what we can before the new students arrive.  Band day will officially kickoff at 3pm.  Pizza and drinks will be served around 4:30ish over at the band room.  We should be wrapping up the event around 6pmish.

Guard Auditions - The Guard audition clinics will be May 4th, 5th, & 7th 5pm-7pm.  Anyone interested in participating in the Colorguard for marching band must attend these auditions.  Please help us get the word out to anyone interested that is not already in the band. It is at the directors' discretion as to availability of wind players moving to guard..

Percussion Clinics/Auditions - We will hold percussion clinics on May 8th, May 11th,12th 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Auditions will be May 13th and 14th 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Anyone interested in joining the percussion section must attend these clinics.  Remember, it is at the directors' discretion as to availability of wind players moving to percussion. Current percussionists and incoming freshmen percussionists have priority for spots.


May BPA Meeting - the May BPA Monthly meeting will be moved to Monday, May 11th at 7pm after the New Parent/Student meeting.


Step-off Rehearsal - ALL NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS: Tuesday, May 19th at 6pm-8:30, we will have our first rehearsal of the 2026-27 marching band.  We are excited to welcome all of our new and returning members under one roof for the first time.  Please make sure you bring your instruments.  We will provide all marching instruments (bari saxes, percussion, sousaphones, euphoniums, mellophones). We will issue lockers and music during this rehearsal.  Wear comfortable clothes as we will be going outside at a point during this rehearsal. Parents are welcome to stick around and listen, however, there will be very limited room in the band room that evening.

I have attached all of the permission slips for everyone for BAND DAY (See Below)! Remember, this is May 5th.  A bus will be picking you up at your school around 2:40ish.  Please make sure you have these slips in hand especially for our potential guard members.  I have also attached the Band Day Flier and Upcoming Events.  PERCUSSION, we will be offering a new student clinic on May 8th 6:30-8:30 at the band hall.  This is your chance to get an early start to the percussion auditions.

Leadership Applications and other Paperwork - We have began handing out the applications for leadership, senior scholarships, Last Wills, and Letter/Bars.  These can be found on the locker room doors. Please make sure you read through all info and observe the deadlines.  All forms are due by April 24th.

Beats and Eats Festival - The BPA is bringing back the Beats & Eats Festival! This will be held on Saturday, April 25th in Downtown Milton at Jernigan's Landing.  We are looking for arts and food vendors.  If you know anyone interested, please send them the attached poster or send them to this link: http://www.miltonhighschoolband.com/home/beats-eats-jazz-festival-saturday-april-25th Volunteer sign-ups are available on CutTime.  Parents and students are may sign up. Please reach out to Becky Wilson for more information: [email protected]

New Winds/Perc Rehearsal Sit-In - Please help us get the word out to all potential new winds and percussion that they are welcome to bring their instruments and rehearse with Symphonic Band on Tuesday, April 21 5pm-6:30.  They will be able to play along and ask any questions they have.

Hello All,


FBA S&E - Congratulations to all of the participants of the April FBA S&E. These students prepared for individual and group performances the last several months and showed off at Avalon MS this past Saturday. Out of 23 entries, there were14 Superiors, 6 Excellents, 1 Good, 2 Comments only.


Indoor Percussion & Winterguard Showcase - This Thursday, our Black Gold Percussion Ensemble and Winterguard will be giving FREE performances! The percussion will start, followed by our winterguards. The guard students have been creating individual routines as part of this performance. Come on out for a fun night!


Tri-M Talent Show - The Tri-M talent show is next Friday April 17! This is the biggest fundraiser event for Tri-M. We are still looking for acts. Do you have what it takes? We encourage everyone to sign up and showoff your talents. The grand prize is a crisp $100 bill! Please signup and help us spread the word!

​Hello all,


Instrument Demonstration Trips - This week, we will have 3 band recruiting trips at various elementary schools.  These trips are intended to get students excited to be a part of this wonderful journey we call band beginning at the middle school level.  Students signed up in the band room.  The schedule is below.  Please wear a band shirt and bring your instruments.  This is an awesome opportunity for our students in conjunction with Schmidt's Music to open up the doors of music for the next generation.  Thank you to all of the students that signed up.


FBA Solo & Ensemble - We finally just received the schedule for the FBA Solo & Ensemble MPA. This will be held at Avalon MS this Friday. All performances will start after 5pm. CLICK HERE for the attached schedule which is also posted on the locker room door at the band hall. Students will need to provide their own transportation. Also, make sure you dress in your best for this performance. Remember, you only get one first impression.


Panther Percussion - The Panther Percussion will be performing this Friday for the FBA S&E at Avalon. These students have also been working hard for this. There performance is at 7:24. The call time will be at 6:30pm. Remember to wear black button up shirts and black pants with black shoes.


Tri-M Talent Show - The Tri-M talent show is next Friday April 17! This is the biggest fundraiser event for Tri-M. We are still looking for acts. Do you have what it takes?
