This Week in the Mighty Black & Gold

Hello All,

This will be the last weekly update until the full band returns in July.  Please make sure you look through this carefully and mark down all summer dates.  I hope all of you have a great break when we get to that point.  BE SAFE and get plenty of well-deserved rest!

Rookie Camp - Rookie Camp is finally upon us.  This is required by all new members.  This is an extremely important camp as students will learn how to march and use their equipment.  All returning members are welcome to attend as well.  Make sure you prepare you bodies now by drinking lots of fluids.  Also, bring thermoses, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and anything else you need to keep cool.  We will be outside 4pm-7pm each day.  Please bring all instruments and music as well.

Auditions - The deadline has passed for wind and jazz auditions.  If you forgot to turn this in, please get this submitted ASAP. We will compose a list of students that we are missing and will notate what we are missing.  We MUST have an audition submitted.  Don't let technical difficulties or fear of auditioning keep you from joining the MHS Band.  We will work through all of this.

Audition Results - We will be working hard to listen to and evaluate all auditions after this week.  Please be patient as this process does take some time.  As soon as it is ready, we will post the lists on all MHS Band communication routes. We will be posting multiple lists. One for the Blackwater Beats Jazz Band and two different types of Concert lists.  One for a two-band setup and another for a three-band setup.

Guard/Percussion Camps - The guard and percussion camps will take place during June.  These camps are required, however we will work with pre-scheduled events to a degree during this time.  Please communicate with any attendance issues with the guard and percussion staff.  See below for dates.
Percussion - Chandler Sedlacek - (850)686-4263 - [email protected]
Guard - Jac Jalomo - (334)707-4034 - [email protected]

BAND TRIP - Can you believe that we are finally leaving this Friday for our band trip! All fees MUST be paid before setting foot on the bus.  Please make sure you have read through everything.  We have post the bus lists and rooming lists in the band hall.  All info for the trip can be found on our website here: http://www.miltonhighschoolband.com/gatlinburg-trip-info.html

Good luck to everyone on your final 3 days of school! We hope everyone has a wonderful week!
