Hello All,

This will be the last weekly update for a while until we return in July. Please make sure you keep an eye on the calendar and communicate, communicate, communicate. All events are required, however, we will work with prescheduled vacations. Band Camp and Rookie Camp are absolutes! We hope you enjoy your break as it happens and BE SAFE!! Please don't let your instruments and equipment grow dust! We will see all of you again in July and some of you throughout June :-)

Auditions - The deadline has passed for wind and jazz auditions.  If you forgot to turn this in, please get this submitted ASAP. We MUST have an audition submitted.  Don't let technical difficulties or fear of auditioning keep you from joining the MHS Band.  We will work through all of this. Congrats on the French Horns, Euphoniums, and Tubas for having 100% of your sections audition!!

- THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS NEED TO TURN IN AUDITIONS:

Riley Clark - Not Signed up for Teams
Andrea Clark - Missing Scales
Peyton Cleveland - Missing Both
Breanna Frank - Missing Etude
Dylan George - Not Signed up for Teams
Gabryel Haire - Missing Both
Adolyn Lunsford - Missing Etude

Rookie Camp - Rookie Camp is finally upon us.  This is required by all new members.  This is an extremely important camp as students will learn how to march and use their equipment.  All returning members are welcome to attend as well.  Make sure you prepare your bodies now by drinking lots of fluids.  Also, bring thermoses, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and anything else you need to keep cool.  We will be outside 8am-Noon each day.  Please bring all instruments and music as well. We will have Rookie Camp rain or shine! If it storms/ we will adjust locations.

Audition Results - Throughout the week of Rookie Camp, we will be listening to and evaluating all submissions. We will try to post these by the last day of Rookie Camp, but there are no guarantees. Please be patient. We will post these through CutTime announcements, Facebook, Insta, and Website.

Guard/Percussion Camps - The guard and percussion camps will take place during June.  These camps are required, however we will work with pre-scheduled events to a degree during this time.  Please communicate with any attendance issues with the guard and percussion staff.  See below for dates.
Percussion - Chandler Sedlacek -(850)686-4263 - [email protected]
Guard - Jac Jalomo - (334)707-4034 - [email protected]

July 4th Milton Riverfest - On July 4th, the City of Milton will once again be hosting the Independence Day Riverfest at Jernigan Landing next to Veterans Memorial in downtown Milton. The MHSBPA will be selling concessions at this event from Noon-10pm. We need volunteers. There are various opportunities with this, all of which can be viewed through our CutTime Calendar. Simply go to the even on the calendar and you will see the sign-up slots with times and job. Parents, this is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the returning band parents and create bonds that can last a lifetime. Also, it's the first major event to help support the MB&G. This is a BPA volunteer incentive qualifier. Students may sign-up as well; however, they do not qualify for the financial discount.
That is all for now. We hope you have a wonderful summer!
