Hello All,

Almost halfway through marching season and the Mighty Black & Gold is still going strong!! I am incredibly proud of everything that all of our amazing students are doing on a daily basis as well as our wonderful parents! Thank you all so much for pushing forward and upward with everything! 

Students that signed up for the pep rally in Pensacola this Tuesday will need to be at the band room by 8am.  We will fill 2 buses and ride over there.   Please wear your polo shirts and black shorts for this.  We should return by 10:30am.  I will have that list posted on Monday.  

Only 2 more weeks till we begin the competition with our Blackwater Classic Marching Band Festival.  There are a ton of openings for parent volunteers to work.  Please please please sign-up parents.  We need your support to make this a success.  You can sign up directly by CLICKING HERE.  

If you ordered the new show shirts for this year, they have arrived.  Please turn in your money to get your shirt.  We will be handing these out all week, bu please pick them up on Monday.  I will begin selling the extra shirts as the week progresses.  They are $12 per shirt.

Finally, I would like to wish all of our students the best of luck with the All-State auditions this Saturday at MHS.  Students, we still have plenty of open spots available to help out.  Please sign up in the locker room.  You will be wearing a show shirt the day of the auditions for those working.

Just wanted to give everyone an update as to the Ft. Walton Beach HS game this Friday.  We found out yesterday that they will be celebrating their homecoming as well as their band senior night.  Because of this, we will be performing our halftime show at pregame around 6:30 on Friday.  Our meeting time has been bumped up to 4:30 as well.  We are offering to order pizza for any student that plans to stay after school to eat at the student's expense.  These will be large, one topping pizzas.  They are $7 per pizza.  Students will need to have money in hand on Friday to receive their pizza.  I have placed a sign-up sheet in the front of the band room for students to sign-up.  We will not be charging the Charms account for this.  Please have money in hand.  Checks are made out to MHS Band.

We have posted all of the volunteer opportunities available for the Blackwater Classic Marching Band Festival on Saturday, October 5th.  This is an all day event for students and parents and we need all hands on deck! This event is the biggest event that the band hosts during the year and it is only a success because of our parent help.  Please look at the following link and sign up in the area that you think would work best for you.  Be mindful of the shift in which you are signing up.  This link is for parents only NOT students.

Hello All,

What a great start to the football season! Way to go to our football team for winning the season opener and amazing job to all our band for a great first football show.  If you missed the performance, you can CLICK HERE and visit our YouTube page to watch each of our performances. Still have a lot to do with the show, but we are off to a great start.  

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Mighty Black & Gold at the 2nd car wash Saturday.  After combining both car wash numbers, we ended up washing a total of 212 total cars.  We will have a paper with the break down of each location for you to give to your pledgers this week.  Please take up payments ASAP and turn in to the money box.  We are still calculating donations as well.

Our first pep rally is this week.  Students will wear either the pep rally theme, or this year's show shirts and blue jeans/blue jean shorts.  Seniors may wear their crowns as well.
