Good morning Winds & Percussion,


FBA Solo & Ensemble will take place on Saturday, February 15th at Escambia High School.  All of you are encouraged to participate in this.  We have/will hand out the form for you in class.  You will need one form per solo and/or ensemble.  If you are wondering what to play, click the link below and look through the list.  You can order these pieces through JWpepper.com or we can order it for you.

​You can organize this list with into any instrument and ensemble combination.  You will need choose a minimum grade 3 or higher.  Simply Google the name of the piece with the composer/arranger and your instrument and listen to find one that sounds fun and achievable.   If you choose a solo piece and it requires and accompanist, we can line that up for you unless you already have one.  Click the link below for the form to turn in to us. Basketball Pep Band - This Tuesday, we will have an OPTIONAL pep band performance for all 3 basketball games.  The itinerary id below.  Remember, wear band shirts or Men In Black outfits with Aliens.  Bring money to eat at concessions as well.  You can still sign up on the sheet in the locker room.  


William Carey University Performance - This Tuesday during 5th and part of 6th periods, the William Carey University Marching Band will be performing and handing our info to all band students.  Students will be released to the gym at 1:45pm.  the performance will begin around 2pm and end by 3pm.  This is only for MHS Band students.  


BPA Concessions & Trailer Clean-up - It's the end of marching season so it's time to clean up our outside concession area. On Saturday 9am-2pm, We will also be cleaning out our concessions trailer to get it ready for our next big event in January.  All grills, flattops, and fryers will need to be deep cleaned and then stored in our storage area until needed. We will also be pressure washing the area as well. This is open to parents and any student who might need volunteer hours.


Christmas Party Committee - We are going to have a meeting Monday November 18th @5:30 pm in room 131. For anyone interested or on the Christmas committee please try and plan to attend. We will begin our discussions and prep for the Christmas party. Time is running short. Hope to see you all there! 

Band Merchandise - The remaining merchandise such as shirts, panther tails, bags, yard signs, etc. are available from Amanda Makar or Arlene Wires or online https://www.mhsbpa.org/shop


Christmas Concert - Mark your calendars for the the annual Band Christmas Concert on December 12th at 6:30pm. This is a FREE concert in the MHS Auditorium.  


Section Christmas Tree Contest - Just a reminder that we will have the section Christmas Tree decorating contest at the concert again.  The winning section will win a prize from the BPA and a name added to the trophy.  Decorating will be on Tuesday, Dec. 10th at 6pm.  


Christmas Parades - Dec. 7 Milton Christmas Parade, and Dec. 14 Pensacola Christmas Parade.  Please be aware that students will need to secure rides to all of these parades as we will not be providing buses.  More info on each parade will be given as those dates approach.

Hello All,


Veteran's Day Parade - Monday we will be celebrating all of our past, present, and future veterans with a parade.  We will meet at 8am at the band hall. We will hand out plumes at the band hall and collect at my (Mr. Schultz's) truck at the end of the parade.  The parade route begins at the anchor at MHS, goes south on Stewart Street, left down Berryhill Road, right on Willing Street in downtown Milton, and ends at Veteran's Memorial.  Students will need to have a ride from Veteran's Memorial at the end of the parade. Remember to bring instruments and uniforms back on Monday. Everyone is welcome to attend the ceremony after the parade put on by the VA.   


All-County Student Help - Students, WE NEED YOUR HELP with the HS All-County auditions on Tuesday the 12th.  These will take place after school that afternoon/evening.  We have lots of positions open.  The sign-up is posted on the locker room door.  If you are not auditioning and/or if you are in Tri-M, you need to sign up to volunteer. Ask us any questions you may have about this.  Times and other info are on the door.  PLEASE SIGN UP! Free food and drinks will be provided!


Fall Movie Concert - Mark your calendars.  We will be presenting a performance in the MHS Auditorium at 6pm on Thursday featuring all movie themes.  Come get nostalgic as the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Blackwater Beats Jazz Band performs some of our favorite movie melodies.  This is a FREE concert.  Students are asked to dress as their favorite movie character or wear their summer uniform.  We will also be holding a silent auction for the various movie posters around the auditorium. 


Band Christmas Party - We will be hosting our annual Christmas Party on Friday December 13th. This years theme coincides with "Teenage Wasteland" so therefore we are doing the Nightmare Before Christmas them. We are in need to borrow some decorations for this event as well as any ideas you may have to help make this event come to life. Hello All,

Congratulations on finishing another football season! We still have a few marching events left to end marching season (Veterans Day Parade, Milton Christmas Parade, and Pensacola Christmas Parade).  We will now start making the full transition to concert and Indoor season. THANK YOU to all of our students, parents, and staff for an amazing marching season! A special thank you to our BPA Board for the countless hours of planning and volunteering to help our students! 

All-State - A huge congratulations to Josiah Hall s for making the All-State Band. He will be representing Milton High School and Santa Rosa County in January at the FMEA Convention.

Concert and Indoor - As we move to full-on concert/Indoor season, we will be taking our big marching ensemble and splitting that into multiple smaller ensembles.  Each of these ensembles will have their own afterschool rehearsals.  Students are required to attend all rehearsals and performances associated with their ensemble.  Make sure you look through the calendar carefully to see when these rehearsals and performances will take place.

Indoor Percussion - We will have an Indoor Percussion interest meeting this Wednesday at 7pm in room 131 in Math West.  All students interested in participating with the Black Gold Percussion Ensemble need to plan on being in attendance.  We will hold auditions this Thursday and Saturday.  See schedule below.

Winterguard - We will be holding a Winterguard info meeting this Tuesday at 5:45 in room 131 of Math West.  All guard students must attend this meeting.  Any other student interested in Winterguard need to attend as well.  Winterguard Camp and auditions will be held this week.  See schedule below.

All-County Auditions - Thursday November 12th, the high school all-county auditions will take place at Milton High School.  Students, WE NEED YOUR HELP with proctoring rooms that evening.  Sign-ups have been posted on the locker room door.  Students can receive volunteer hours for this.  Please Please Please help us out.  These auditions run smoothly only because of the students that help.  Again, students can receive volunteer hours for these.

Sweet Seasons - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of the parents and students that volunteered to work the BPA concessions at Sweet Seasons Farm over the past month! Because of you, we are able to supply our students with the best equipment possible.
