Hello All,

This will be the last weekly update until we return in 2025 after the break.  I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday and Happy New Year! Please be safe over this time and have some fun.   Please DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS AND MUSIC HOME ON FRIDAY!

Christmas Concert - Awesome job to all! This concert was truly fun and really set a good mood for the season! Thank you to all of your hard work.

Christmas Party - THANK YOU to our BPA and students for organizing a wonderful Christmas Party! Fun was had by all and you made it happen. We all appreciate everything you do! Even 2 frigidly cold band directors at the end were smiling LOL!

Pensacola Parade - Great job to all at the Pensacola Christmas Parade! We were part of the biggest Pensacola parade to date with over 50,000 people in attendance.  Lots of yells and support for the MB&G! The parade officials will be donating all profits of the parade to the band booster organizations of the bands that participated.  Around $250-$500.  With the end of the parade this also marks the official end of marching season.  Congrats to all.

Band Trip - We will hold a band trip interest meeting this Tuesday at 6pm in Room 130 in Math West so far.  This year's trip will be to Six Flags Atlanta and Gatlinburg/Pidgeon Forge May 30th-June 4th.  If you are interested in any way to go on this trip, please come out to the meeting.  Varsity Winterguard members will need to have a parent at the meeting to recieve the info.

Indoor Groups - If you are a member of the Winterguard or Indoor Percussion, please make sure you stay in contact with the instructors about any attendance issues over the break.
IP - Chandler Sedlacek [email protected]
Winterguard - Samantha Foreman [email protected]

Winter Break - Enjoy your break! Be Safe! Have Fun! All students must take instruments and music home.  Please clean up your lockers as well.  We will be hitting the ground running when we return.

That is all for now.  I hope you have a wonderful break.

Pensacola Christmas Parade Info

Here is all of the info so far about the Pensacola Parade this Saturday:

When: Saturday, December 14th
Time: 4pm-Call Time, 5:30-Parade Start
Where: See link, Park at Wahoo Stadium parking lot, Meet at north end of parking lot

What to wear: Full Uniform minus helmets, wear Christmas hats and lights/decorations

Call time is 4pm, BUT I will highly encourage everyone to get there by 3:45 to ensure you have a parking spot or that you will be able to be at the Wahoo stadium in time.  As noted, we will meet at the north end of the parking lot.  From there, we will walk to W Romana Street and line-up.  Once we are lined-up, we should have enough time to mingle with the other bands and maybe look through the floats.  There are a total of 8 bands participating this year. We are the 6th band in the line-up. I was informed that we are between the Cubs Crawfish float and the Marine Max Float.  These are entries number 40 and 41. There are a total of 90 entries, including floats and bands. This means are within the middle of the parade. I estimate that our step-off time will be around 6:15pm. See link for parade route. If you are spectating the parade and want to see  us twice, i suggest you station yourself at the north end of Palafox where we will loop around and head south.  If you want the best sound and most congestion, the south end of Palafox is where to go.  WKRG (CBS) will also be broadcasting the parade with commentary. The parade ends at Main Street.  We will walk back to the Wahoo stadium from there and dismiss.  The Wahoo Stadium will be the drop off and pick-up location.  The estimated end time for us is around 6:45 to 7pm.

Hello All,

Tree Decorating - Next Tuesday the 10th will be the section tree decorating.  This will take place after Symphonic Band rehearsal in the auditorium.  Colorguard will have their chance to decorate at 4pm during the symphonic rehearsal.  Trees will be judged by an outside panel on Thursday at 5:45.  The winning section will be announced during the concert. A Grand prize is available for the top winning section.

Christmas Concert - The annual band Christmas concert is on Thursday, Dec. 12th at 6:30 in the Auditorium.  This is a FREE concert with performances by the Blackwater Beats Jazz Band, Panther Percussion, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band.  We invite everyone to come out and get into the holiday spirit with us.  We will also have the section Christmas trees decorated all around the auditorium.  Doors will open at 5:30.

Christmas Party - The Band Christmas party will be held on Friday, Dec. 13th from 5pm-9pm at the Band Hall and practice fields.  This is celebration for all of our wonderful band students of for a semester full of accomplishments and hard work.  Again, this is for ALL of the band students, not just the marching band.  This party is FREE.  The BPA will be providing food.  There are a ton of activities planned, most of which are outside, so dress accordingly.

Secret Santa Gift Exchange - As tradition, we will have a secret Santa gift exchange at the party.  Any student that would like to participate in this will need to provide a gift that is a minimum of $5.  We will collect these gifts throughout the week and at the party.  Do not put your name on the gift.  We will place a number on each gift and have students sign the list so we know who is participating.

Pensacola Christmas Parade -  We will be participating in the Pensacola Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 14th.  This is a required performance. We will be meeting at the Wahoo Stadium parking lot at 4pm.  You are welcome to get there earlier if you would like. Simply park, then find the grouping of Milton uniforms.  The parade itself starts at 5:30pm.  The route begins at Garden Street West of Palafox, then goes north on Palafox, then back south all the way down Palafox to Main Street.  Once we get to the end, we will walk back to the Wahoo Stadium and dismiss from there.  Students will need to be dropped off and picked up at the Wahoo Stadium.  Students, please deck yourselves out again in lights and decorations! :-)

Hello All,

Welcome Band from Fall Break.  Hope everyone rested up and spent time doing everything you wanted to do.  We have a short, but packed few weeks until winter break.  Please look through everything below for all of the info.

Milton Parade - The Milton Christmas parade is this Saturday.  The band hall will be open 4pm-4:45 for students to grab uniforms and instruments.  Students may decorate their instruments and body as you please as long as they can still play and march.  Please DO NOT use duct tape on your instruments.  This could permanently damage instruments.  We will wear our full uniform minus helmets.  Please try to secure some kind of Christmas hat. We will meet at 5pm at the empty lot on James street.  This is across from the BMX bike course.  Make sure you have a ride to get you at the end of the parade.  The parade route goes straight down Stewart street. We will end at Margaret Street Church of Christ.  This is where you will need to pick up students.  Students will take uniforms home and BRING THEM BACK ON MONDAY.
