FBA Jazz MPA - A Very big CONGRATULATIONS to our own Blackwater Beats Jazz Band for an outstanding performance at Jazz MPA this past Friday! You brought the house down and earned straight superior ratings! We really had fun and the audience did as well! Great job everyone.
FBA Solo & Ensemble - Congratulations to all of the students that participated in the FBA Solo & Ensemble this past Friday as well! These students went above and beyond as musicians and challenged themselves by performing challenging music! 27 students participated with 23 earning superior and 4 earning excellent ratings! We are super proud of all of them!
Winter/Spring Sports Pep Rally - The Marching Band will be performing this Wednesday for the Winter & Spring sports pep rally. Students will need to wear a band shirt for this. We will meet in the band room at 1:40.
Drum Major Clinic - We will be holding a drum major audition clinic this Friday at the band hall. Any student interested in auditioning to be one of the 2026-27 MHS Drum Majors are encouraged to attend. This is not required for the auditions, however, it is a good way to get a head start on the audition process.
FBA Season - Welcome to the FBA Spring season! Over the next few weeks, there will be different FBA events taking place. These events are Solo & Ensemble MPA and Jazz MPA on the Friday the 20th at PSC, and Concert MPA on the 6th of March at FWBHS. These dates are the most important dates for the spring semester for winds and percussion and jazz. All of these performances are FREE and we encourage audience attendance and support to each.
FBA Concert MPA - The FBA Concert MPA performance is Friday, March 6th at Ft. Walton Beach HS. The Concert Band will perform at 6:30pm and the Symphonic at 8:45pm. All Concert/Symphonic wind, percussion, and managers are required to attend this. We will be wearing our uniforms for this, without gloves, helmets, and gauntlets. MHSBPA Board Nominations - We are now accepting nominations for the 2026-27 BPA Board. We will take nominations from the floor as well as through email through April. Any current band parent is eligible to be nominated. Positions are President, 1st VP, 2nd VP, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and one Trustee position. Please see or email Mr. Schultz to nominate.
BPA Meeting Time Change - The BPA Meeting scheduled for next month will be at 6pm not 7pm. All BPA monthly meetings will be at 6pm from that point on.

Our trip organizer, Mr. Shaun Hammond, will be with us that evening to answer any questions as we talk through the itinerary. All students and parents going on the trip must attend this meeting.
Individual Band Pics - If you missed the individual band pics, it is your responsibility to get up with Kay Brown photography before February 28th to make these up. You will need your uniforms and instruments.
Band Fees - Now that the new year and second semester is upon us, it is time to make the final payments for all band and indoor fees. All accounts have been updated with the BPA incentive volunteer discount. Payments can be made online or directly to the money box.
