Hello All,
THANK YOU BAND!!! Three words that are simple, but mean so much! Our students did an amazing job this weekend with our mini camp. We got the vast majority of our closer on the field with music. Also outstanding job to our parents and student who worked the Southern Raceway event for the BPA. Thank you to the BPA for supplying snacks for our students during the lunch break. Thank you to all of the parents and students for adjusting to the location change. It was a GREAT weekend for the MB&G! The BPA would also like to say thank you to all the parents and students who volunteered at Southern raceway this past Saturday. It was amazing!
Homecoming Week - HAPPY HOMECOMING. This week there are lots of events and dress-up days to enjoy each day. I encourage everyone to take part and get into the spirit of homecoming. The MB&G will be playing a huge part as always. Here is a rundown of the uniforms for the week:
Tues- Wear a band shirt or dress like Adam Sandler for Escapades
Thurs - Bring formal uniform to school for pep rally, change during 5th period
Fri - Summer Uniform for Parade, Formal Uniform for game.
Escapades - This Tuesday is Escapades. This is the after school pep rally in the gym. All of the class skits will be performed and the HC court will be introduced. Parents are invited to come out and watch. The itinerary is below. Call time is 5:45 in summer uniform.
Marching Band/Section Pics - We will be taking our marching band and section pics on Tuesday at 4pm-5:45. Please make sure you bring your uniform to school on Tuesday. Students may leave their bibbers with their uniforms this week since we will be wearing these on and off throughout the week.
HC Parade - We will meet at 9am in the band room for the HC parade then bus to King MS in rotation on 2 buses. The parade will kickoff around 10:30. Students will be dismissed at the end. Buses will run at Noon. See itinerary below.
BPA Not Feeding Band Friday - The BPA would like to say thank you to all the parents and students who volunteered at Southern raceway this past Saturday. It was amazing!
BPA Concessions for Game - We are still in need of volunteers for the Homecoming game. If we do not have enough people, we will not be able to operate. Please go on cuttime for all volunteer opportunities.
HOME Game vs Mosley HS - This Friday is our homecoming game. See itinerary below. Take note that we will be performing our halftime show at POST GAME before we march back to the band room. We will also be giving a special performance for the students of Hobbs MS at the practice field before the game. We will also be inviting all of our Band Alumni to join us in the stands at the 2nd half of the game.
Weather This Week - Everyone is watching the weather this week. The Athletics and Administration will make calls as the progresses as far as HC events and game. We will do our part with communicating as we receive word.
BPA Sweet Season Concession Sales - The BPA will be set up out at Sweet Seasons Farm with the concession trailer starting this weekend. Saturday from 8-5, Sunday from 10-5. We are still in need of volunteers so If you would like to volunteer, please sign up on cuttime. If you volunteer, you get into the farm for free and can do all of the activities at the Farm.
Blackwater Classic - Blackwater Classic is quickly approaching along with the rest of Bandtober. We are working on putting together a performance schedule of bands for that day. This is October 5th. Please remember that students will need to be at the school all day. We will rehearse that morning, then watch/support all of the visiting bands. We will be performing at the end of the night right before the University of South Alabama Marching Band I will send out an exact schedule as soon as it is available.
