Hello All,
All-State Auditions - Congratulations to all of the students that auditioned for All-State Saturday! These students worked hard and improved so much simply by putting yourselves on the line and go through this audition process. Thank you to the student workers that helped make that a success. Also, thank you to all of the parents for helping out all day with food set up and other tasks. We received many compliments about how organized everything was.
Lumpia Due - Lumpia fundraiser forms and money are due this Wednesday September 17th. The BPA will be in the Band room all day collecting money. Please make sure all forms are tallied and you have collected all money. This is all due by the end of the school day.
Tri-M Induction Ceremony - Mr. Coots has been working hard on putting together the Tri-M induction ceremony. This will take place at the auditorium Monday at 6pm. Please plan to wear nice clothes for this. Think Sunday's best. There will be performances given throughout as well. Parents are invited to attend as well.
Pep Rally - This Friday is our 2nd pep rally of the season. Please plan to wear the theme or band shirts,
Student Meat Sticking - We will have a student shish kabob mass meat sticking on Monday, September 22nd. This is a required event to help replenish supplies. All students will meet in the cafeteria directly after school on that day. Concert band will start everything at 1:30, then Symphonic Band at 2:30, then the full band. We are scheduled to end at 6pm, BUT could end earlier depending on how everything goes. Parents are welcome to volunteer after school as well.
Band Trip Interest Meeting - We will hold a Band Trip interest meeting at 7pm on Monday the 22nd in the band hall. Anyone interested in going on this trip is welcome to attend. The trip this year is being planned for March 23-27 to Universal Studios in Orlando. Please attend the meeting to get more info.
Guard Camp - This Saturday, the color guard will be holding a rehearsal camp for all guard members. Please make sure you are there. This will be to refine and and learn known and new choreography.
Blackwater Classic - Blackwater Classic is quickly approaching along with the rest of Bandtober. We are working on putting together a performance schedule of bands for that day. This is October 4th. Please remember that students will need to be at the school all day. We will rehearse that morning, then watch/support all of the visiting bands. We will be performing at the end of the night right before the University of West Florida Marching Band I will send out an exact schedule as soon as it is available. Mosley Game - As a reminder, we will NOT be attending the Mosely game on September 26th.
Band Pictures - We are planning to take our full marching band and section pics after school on Friday, September 26th. We will start at 4pm and end around 6pm.
Percussion Rehearsal - There will be a special percussion rehearsal on Friday, September 26th 7pm-9pm
