Hello All,
I want to thank everyone for your hard work at the car wash Saturday. We ended the day cleaning a total of 219 vehicles! We will be handing out a letter that you can give to your pledgers with the individual site total along with the grand total. Remember, they were pledging based on the total number of vehicles washed. Please start getting these pledges to the money box ASAP.
We are now in the 2nd and final week of band camp. Our students worked extremely hard during the first week and put almost half of the show on the field! It was a very hot but productive week and everyone pushed through to the end. We cannot wait till you see them in performance. I want to thank all of the parents that came up during that first week to take care of our students and keep all of us fed and watered!
Speaking of performance, this Thursday is the 2016 Mighty Black & Gold Marching Band Preview Show. This is a completely FREE event and hope to perform to yet another packed house at the band practice field. Please tell everyone you know to make plans to be there. We will begin the show at 7pm with the band set to march in just a little before then. The BPA will also be serving hamburgers and hotdogs with items brought by the band students immediately after the show. Printed below, you'll find what each section is to bring for this dinner. Students, please bring items in on Thursday.
Drum Majors & Tenor Drums - Baked Beans
Flutes, Clarinets, & Bass Clarinets - One 12 pack of soda each
All Saxes & Trumpets - Desserts
Mellophones - 1 case bottled water
Trombones & Euphoniums - Potato Salad
Tubas - Plates, Napkins, & Utensils
Snare - Cole Slaw
Bass Drums, Flubs, & Cymbals - Pasta/Macaroni Salad
Front Ensemble & Colorguard - 2 bags of chips each
Finally, after this week, we will have one week off and then will meet back the week of August 8th -12th. You will see several events for that week including a mass meat sticking. This is required for all students and is a BPA incentive event for parents as well. We will also begin the Monday, Tuesday, Thursday night rehearsals for the semester that week. Guess what? School starts the week after that! Came up quickly didn't it? Get ready!
