FBA Season - Welcome to the FBA Spring season! Over the next few weeks, there will be different FBA events taking place. These events are Solo & Ensemble MPA and Jazz MPA on the Friday the 20th at PSC, and Concert MPA on the 6th of March at FWBHS. These dates are the most important dates for the spring semester for winds and percussion and jazz. All of these performances are FREE and we encourage audience attendance and support to each.
Individual Band Pictures - All students will take individual band pictures February 11th and 12th. We have passed out order forms from Kay Brown. This is for all band students whether you are ordering or not. Students will need to plan to take pictures either before school or during all band classes.
Pace Jazz Café - The Blackwater Beats Jazz Band will be performing at Pace HS on Wednesday, February 11th. This is at the Pace HS cafeteria. Performance time is TBD. This is a FREE event and will give you a sneak peak with the BBJB for Jazz MPA. Come on out and show your support. See start time below.
MHSBPA Board Nominations - This Tuesday is a very important BPA meeting. We will begin accepting nominations for the 2026-27 BPA Board. We will take nominations from the floor as well as through email through April. Any current band parent is eligible to be nominated. Positions are President, 1st VP, 2nd VP, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and one Trustee position. Please see Mr. Schultz to nominate.
Indoor Groups - This Saturday is the 2nd indoor show of the season. This will be at UWF. See performance times below. All are encouraged to come on out and show your support for our students!
Mock MPA/Preview Concert - We will be hosting a this concert on Tuesday, February 17th in the auditorium. This is a free concert open to the public. The MHS Concert and Symphonic bands will be performing. We will have a couple guest directors giving each band feedback as well. Please make plans to join us that night. The performances will begin at 6pm.
Band Fees - Now that the new year and second semester is upon us, it is time to make the final payments for all band and indoor fees. All accounts have been updated with the BPA incentive volunteer discount. Payments can be made online or directly to the money box. If using checks to make separate payments to various fees, please use separate checks per fee. It is imperative that all fees are paid ASAP.
Jazz and Solo & Ensemble - Next Friday the 20th is FBA Jazz and Solo & Ensemble MPA. This is at PSC. We will be receiving an updated schedule for Solo & Ensemble soon. Students must provide their own rides to both. Jazz students need to arrive by 5:30pm that evening. Everyone should go ahead and make plans to come out and listen to the Blackwater Beats that evening for this FREE concert!
