BAND TRIP SPRING 2025 -  UNIVERSAL STUDIOS - ISLAND OF ADVENTURES - EPIC UNIVERSE


Band Students & Parents,    
 
We have been working to provide the MB&G with a quality trip to Universal Studios this school year.  In looking at possible dates, we have decided to use the week after Spring break for the trip days.  This packet contains information pertaining to the trip.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS TRIP IS OPTIONAL!   Remember that your priorities should be your Fair-Share Band Fee obligation. Each person attending the trip must fundraise or pay for their fair share and trip prior to our departure.

DATES OF THE TRIP
Our 4-day trip will take place from Monday March 23rd until Thursday, March 26th, 2026.


 
PROPOSED ITINERARY

Monday, March 23                              -               Depart around 10am/Lunch enroute TBD/Dinner at Disney Springs/Check into Rosen Inn UNIVERSAL
Tuesday, March 24                              -               Breakfast Buffet at Hotel / Visit Universal EPIC Universe
Wednesday, March 25                       -               Breakfast Buffet at Hotel / Visit Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures
Thursday, March 26                            -               Breakfast Buffet at Hotel /Checkout of hotel/ Visit Universal EPIC Universe/Return Home

 
SCHOOL ABSENCES / SCHOOL BOARD APPROVAL
We are in the process of having this trip school board approve.  Students will miss 4 days of school and will need to make-up their work OR get their schoolwork early.  Students should receive an excused absence.  

TRIP COMPANY
We have contracted with Orchestrated Adventures to plan for this trip, and possibly future trips.  This company is owned and operated by current director of bands at Elba High School, AL, Shaun Hammonds.  His band director background as well as years of knowledge of affordable travel, will make this experience much more fluid.  All payments and trip inquiries will be directed through Orchestrated Adventures.  See their website for more information https://orchestratedadventurestoursllc.com/



 COST OF TRIP
$845.00 Student Shared Room (Up to 4 people per room with 2 beds)
$963.00 Chaperone Double Room (Room with 2 people and 2 beds)
$1155.00 Chaperone Single Room (Room with 1 person in room)

 
This amount includes:
  • Roundtrip bus transportation from Milton High School to Orlando, FL
  • Three-night hotel accommodations and security at the Rosen Inn Closest to Universal
  • Buffet Breakfast each morning at the hotel
  • Three Day-Three Park Admission to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Epic
  • Three Meals, one for each day at the park

PAYMENT SCHEDULE
In order to make sure that we are able to pay for trip expenses in a timely manner, please try to adhere to the following payment schedule. ALL PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE THROUGH THE WEBSITE.

*Cost is based on 85% of shared rooms at max capacity (four to a room). Once a rooming list is received from the group leader, every traveler will be billed based on his/her room occupancy. If room occupancy is different than the required 85% filled shared rooms occupancy, the price will be adjusted accordingly. Any additional payment will be due within 7 days.

CHARTER BUS TRANSPORTATION
We are planning to travel with two charter buses.  A third one will be reserved as needed if we meet the quota for a third bus. The first two buses will be first come, first serve, then once capacity is reach, we will have a waiting list for third bus to see if we have the numbers for it to make.  These buses will be air-conditioned, restroom-equipped, and have DVD players/Direct TV onboard.  There is a chance that free wifi is provided as well. They will also have electrical outlets scattered throughout the bus for the all-important charging of the cell phones and Switches.
 
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
We will be staying at the Rosen Inn Closest to Universal on International Drive in Orlando. This is about a quarter mile south of Universal Studios.  We have stayed here several time in the past and the facilities are very clean and luxurious.  They have two swimming pools, a video arcade, fitness center, and is not far from the world’s largest McDonalds.
 
ATTRACTIONS
Orchestrated Adventures will be purchasing everyone a Three Day - Three Park “Park to Park” ticket to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe. We are planning for Epic Universe on day one, then Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures on day two, and Epic Universe again on day 3. 
 
 
CHAPERONING / PARENTS & FAMILY MEMBERS ATTENDING
This is an MHS BAND trip, however we do welcome band parents to also attend the trip as chaperones.  This means that you will have some responsibility in helping us monitor the students…though it is pretty minimal for this particular trip. Siblings of band members may also attend to an extent as long as there is one parent participating.   Parents are responsible for providing supervision for all siblings no matter the age and they must stay in the room with their parent.  Everyone pays full price per person price (see costs above).  Also, we require that band students stay in hotel rooms with other band students instead of their parents…this is a BAND trip! As per school board policy, all adults attending the trip MUST be both a LEVEL 1 & 2 school board approved volunteer.  We reserve the right to deny anyone the ability to participate in this trip. 
 
LEVEL 1 & 2 VOLUNTEERS (SEE HANDOUTS)
All adults and chaperones that would like to attend this trip MUST be a Level 1 AND Level 2 school board approved volunteer.  Volunteers must be level 1 BEFORE they can be approved to be a level 2.  Once you have acquired a level 1 clearance that is school board approved, according to our athletic director in charge of volunteers, you will need to see Geiorge Blake directly to acquire your level 2 forms.   This is a month and a half process so please take care of this NOW.
