The MHS Symphonic Band

The MHS Symphonic Band is the premier instrumental performing ensemble at Milton High School.  Under the direction of Mr. Michael Schultz, the Symphonic Band has celebrated many achievements throughout its rich history. Some of these achievements include earning multiple superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association(FBA) district music performance assessment(MPA), straight superior ratings at the FBA state MPA, and several high quality performances throughout the southeast United States.  Students in this ensemble can expect to play a wide variety of advanced musical repertoire and are expected to demonstrate world class musicianship skills.  Students are also expected to audition for the Santa Rosa County all-county band as well as other honor bands throughout the region. These students are also highly encouraged to perform in the FBA district solo & ensemble MPA in the spring semester.  Membership in the Symphonic band is determined by auditions at the beginning of each school year. Requirements for audition include performing three harmonically adjacent major scales and an advanced etude selected by the directors
