This concert will feature performances by both the Middle School Honor Band, under the direction of Mrs. Kim Whaley, and the High School Honor Band, under the direction of Mr. Ralph Ford. Mrs. Whaley currently serves as the Director of Bands at Shoal River Middle School in Crestview . Mr. Ford is a well-known composer, arranger, conductor, and clinician throughout the United States and Canada. The concert will feature the top band students from the Santa Rosa County School District. Admission is free. We hope that you’ll be able to join us for an evening of extraordinary music.

DEFEAT HUNGER BOWL TOMORROW @ WALMART The MHS Band has been asked to participate in the Defeat Hunger Bowl Pep Rally tomorrow (Saturday) at the Pea Ridge Walmart. Due to cold weather (high of 50 degrees), we are going to limit our time to one hour. All Wind Players & Battery Percussion members should meet on the side of Walmart by 11:45 am in full uniform (minus the helmets). Members are also encouraged to dress warm underneath the uniforms...and may wear cold weather hats as long as they are black or gold. We should be finished by 12:50 pm and members need to be picked up by 1:00 pm. Members who are unable to attend must fill-out Absence Appeal Forms and attach a parent note on Monday. TRIP INTENTION FORMS & DEPOSITS Reminder that Trip Intention Forms and $75 deposit are due by next Friday, January 16 for those students & parents wishing to attend our annual Spring Trip. You can access a copy of the Trip Intention Form by clicking here...and there are copies in the front of the bandroom. BAND PARENT ASSOCIATION MEETING ON TUESDAY NIGHT Please be sure to mark your calendars for our next MHSBPA Meeting coming up this Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the bandroom. Remember that "band business is your business!" We hope that you make plans to attend. TROY HONOR BAND FOLKS - MEETING ON MONDAY NIGHT @ 5:30 PM I need to meet with those students (and their parents) who have made the Troy Honor Band to discuss the transportation & housing situation. Please plan for a 20-25 minute meeting on Monday evening. We'll gather at the bandroom and probably move to the chorus room to meet. Thanks. |
