Hello All,
What a great first week of Band Camp! Our students worked very hard and have put almost half of our show on the field. I have been extremely proud of this and the fact that everyone has managed without complaint how we are having to go back and forth from the band hall to the community center field. They have been working on the track all weekend, I suspect to make up for lost time, so keep your fingers crossed that they will be finished before school begins. This week is the last week of band camp and there are a few location changes that we need you to be aware of as the week goes on. I encourage everyone to use this unless you bring your own lunch because the prices here are significantly less than anywhere around campus. We will have a parent at the band hall at 8am on Monday morning to collect cafe money for student accounts. Students may take advantage of this or go somewhere else, just know that students are on their own during those breaks. We will have staff and parents up at the band hall to keep watch though. Students, our leadership has come up with themes for each day. I highly encourage all to participate. I hear that prizes will be rewarded for participation :-) Here are the themes Week 1 Monday - Tie Dye Tuesday - Camouflage Wednesday - Twin, Dress up like someone else in band Thursday - Favorite Holiday Week 2 Monday - Superheroes Tuesday - Favorite Movie/TV Show Wednesday - Section Decides Speaking of clothes to wear, please go ahead and and start getting the appropriate clothes for the preview show. Parents, we need your help during band camp. There are several volunteer opportunities over the next 2 weeks with Band Camp Cafe and the Medical Tent. Please go to our calendar and sign up by clicking the little hand at each event. There are multiple shifts per area per day. You can access the calendar easily by clicking HERE. Parents, there are still SEVERAL openings for the carwash. WE NEED YOU HELP. if we don't have the parents at the location for whatever shift, we will have to close that shift and move those students to other locations which means we probably won't meet our goal of 300 vehicles washed. PLEASE HELP!!!! You can sign-up by clicking HERE. Last but not least, the DCI Atlanta trip is just around the corner. We still have about 12 spots available for anyone interested. The total cost of this trip is $110. To secure your seat, please get us $50 ASAP. For everyone that has already placed a deposit, the $60 is due by the day we leave which is Saturday, July 28th.
