Jazz Band Performance - We want to invite everyone out to Pace High School on Tuesday, February 8th at 6pm to see the MHS Jazz Band perform along with Sims MS, Avalon MS, and Pace HS.  After the cancelation of the Best of the West performance last week, the Pace folks were great and invited us to perform at their jazz concert.  Please come out and support of of these groups!

Indoor Guard - The Milton HS Winterguard will have their first performance of the season this Saturday at Daphne HS.  The itinerary is below.  Tickets are $10 at the door.  Please come out and support our performers!

MPA Performances - We have received the schedule for Jazz and Concert MPA's .  FBA Jazz MPA will be on Friday, February 18th at Escambia HS.  The Jazz Band will perform at 12:30pm.  The FBA Concert MPA will be on Thursday, March 3rd at Ft. Walton Beach HS.  The Concert Band will perform at 4:45 and the Symphonic Band will perform at 7:45.  All of these concerts are FREE.  We are currently working on itineraries for each of these and will give these out as soon as they are finalized.  

Shirts - We still have plenty of halftime show shirts available for purchase.  They are $17 each and first come first served.

Show Shirts - We still have plenty of show shirts on sale.  They are $17 each all sizes.  First come first served.  Please see Mr. Schultz for purchases.  Cash or check only.

All-County - We invite everyone to come see the All-County Middle and High School bands in performance this Saturday at 2pm at Pace Assembly of God Church.  Doors will open at 1pm.  Entry is FREE.  The clinicians this year are Mr. Tyler Arcari for the middle school band and Dr. Colin McKenzie.  Tyler Arcari is a composer for the Excelsior Publishing company.  Dr. McKenzie is the director of the school of music and band director at the University of Southern Mississippi.  

Indoor Colorguard - The first indoor colorguard competition is just around the corner.  They will be competing the first Saturday in February.  We are still waiting on a performance schedule from GCGPC.  Tickets are $10 and sold at the door.

Hello All,

Individual Band Photos - Kay Brown Photography will be at the band room on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to take individual band photos.  ALL STUDENTS OF THE MILTON HS BAND WILL HAVE THEIR PICTURE TAKEN even if you are not planning to order pictures. This includes guard and mangers.  Students will need to bring their uniforms.  Winds & percussion only need uniform tops, gauntlets, and gloves.  Guard will need their whole uniform.  Mangers will need their band shirt and blue jeans.  Please plan to take these pictures on Wednesday starting at 8:30am and during all classes.  Order forms were sent home last week and we will have extras at the band room.

Best of the West - This event that was scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed according to the email I received last week from the coordinators.  They are in the process of looking for a new date, however, we are not sure if we will be able to participate at this time.

All-County - The All- County band rehearsals will begin this Thursday at the MHS band room.  They will also take place next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the concert being Saturday afternoon.  The concert is FREE and will be hosted at Pace Assembly at 2pm.  All are invited to attend.  Non All-County students may also attend the rehearsals to observe.

Please read everything below for the run down of this week.  

Individual Band Pics - Kay Brown photography will be at the band room on the 19th and 20th to take individual band photos.  We will have order forms this week to give to students and return on picture day.  Students will need to have their uniforms ready on these days.  All students will have their picture taken whether you are ordering or not.  These will start at 8:30am and during each band class. 

Best of the West Jazz Competition - The Jazz Band will be giving a performance at Harborwalk Village in Destin on January 22nd.  We are still waiting to receive our performance time.  The event will begin at 11am and end at 5pm and if FREE to the public.  All are welcome to drive over and watch.  The itinerary for the Jazz Band so far is as follows:

9am- call time at the band room (Jazz Uniform)
9:15 - Depart for Harborwalk Village
10:30 - Arrive Harborwalk Village
11am-5pm - Performance/Watch bands and eat (BRING MONEY)
4:30ish - Award Ceremony
5:15 - Depart for MHS
6:30 - Arrive/Unload/Go Home

Solo and Ensemble - Anyone interested in performing in the FBA Solo & Ensemble MPA on February 12th will need to turn in the form by next Tuesday, January 18th.  CLICK HERE for more information.

Show Shirts on Sale - We have extra 2021-22 show shirts on sale for $17 each.  We have all sizes except XS.  These will be sold on a first come/first served basis.  We take cash or check.  Please give the money directly to Mr. Schultz to receive your shirt.  

MHSBPA Monthly Meeting - This Tuesday at 7pm is the January BPA meeting.  Please make plans to attend as we will be going over what to expect for the semester.

Hello All,

WELCOME BACK!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Can you believe we are already in the final semester of this school year? Hold on tight, it is going to fly by. 

Rehearsals - We are entering concert and indoor season.  As such, you will see that each of our ensembles will have their own after school rehearsals as well as many performances throughout the semester.  All of these are required and vital.  Please make sure you pay close attention to the schedule on the calendar for your ensemble.  There is always a chance a rehearsal/performance could be added or subtracted depending on the circumstances.  We will notify students of changes at least a week ahead of time.  

Lumpia Pick-up - This Thursday is the new date to pick up lumpia.  We will begin this process at 3:30pm in Math West 131.  

UWF Honor Band - Congratulations to the following students for making the UWF Honor Band.  Dr. Braddock has told us that she is in need of French Horns, Trombones, Bass Trombones, and Percussion in order to have the appropriate instrumentation.  If you are interested in this honor band on those instruments, please come see us on Monday and we can forward your info to Dr. Braddock.
