Hello all,
First of all, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I am so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you! You are what makes this Black & Gold Band Mighty! This week is a very busy week as you will see with the schedule below. There are two big performances from the entire band program along with many rehearsals. Please take note as to which bands/indoor groups rehearse on which days below. Come one, come all to the annual Christmas concert this Thursday at 6:30 in the MHS auditorium. This is a FREE concert. Please tell everyone you can to come out and see the hard work of our students to showoff some fun and festive music. What a way to kick off the holiday season! Call time for all students is 6pm. The Milton Christmas parade is on Saturday this week. The meeting times and place are below. Please take note that the band hall will be unlocked at 4pm and locked at 4:45. Students, please make sure you grab your instruments before the meeting time at 5pm at the empty lot on Byrom and James north of the skate park. The route is James Street to Stewart, then south on Stewart ending at the Burger King. The band will gather at the end of the parade at the band truck which will be at MargaretStreet Church of Christ. From there, students will need to secure a ride home or back to the band room. Most importantly for students, I encourage you to decorate everything you can for this parade. As long as you can play and march, I am good with whatever you attach. Remember, we will be wearing full uniforms, but instead of helmets, please wear some kind of Santa hat. Finally, please take note of the one and only trip meeting Monday at 6:30pm in the band hall. Everyone attending the trip will need to make plans to attend this meeting as we will go over every bit of information we have about the trip. We will be video taping the meeting for those students that will be rehearsing in the indoor percussion during that time. For those students, please have a parent at the meeting in your place.
