State MPA - A HUGE congratulations to all of our students who participated in the FBA State Jazz and S&E MPA this past Saturday! Milton High School was represented well by all of the students.  If you have not heard already, the Jazz Band earned straight superior ratings for an outstanding performance! Percussion Preview - This Tuesday, the percussion will be giving a preview concert beginning at 7:30 in the gym. All are welcome to attend this short concert. The full concert will be on April 29th.

GCGPC Championship - This Saturday is your last chance to see the guard in competition. They will be performing at Tate HS for the GCGPC Championship at 6:26pm. Tickets are $10 at the gate. You do not want to miss these amazing students! Please come out and show your support!

Pensacola Jazz Fest - The Blackwater Beats Jazz Band will be giving a performance at 10:30am in Seville Square for the Pensacola Jazz Fest. This is a FREE concert. Hobbs MS will also be performing at 10am. Come on out and enjoy a morning of jazz. They will have plenty of food and craft vendors. All jazz students will need to secure a ride to Seville Square. The day is finally upon us! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SET ALL AS MANY ALARMS AS POSSIBLE!! We will meet at the band room at 5:15am and depart at 5:30am.  We will all get to Rutherford HS at approximately 8am.  For those Jazz students not riding the bus or following, make sure you are at Rutherford HS by 8am.  See the links below for a map and parking info. I do encourage all folks that are going to watch the jazz band at 9am in the Rutherford HS Auditorium.  We would love your support and audience!!

Things to Bring:

• Instrument
• Originals of muisc
• Appropriate attire
  • Jazz Band - Black Slacks, Black Button up shirt, Gold Bowties
  • S&E Students - Nice performance Attire, i.e. No jeans, No Flip-flops, No shorts
  • Change of clothes as needed
• Blankets/Pillows/Snacks are okay for the bus ride
• Money for lunch

• 5:15am - Meet at MHS Band Room
• 5am - Depart
• 8amish - Arrive Rutherford HS
  • Jazz Band Unload Trailer
  • S&E Students Check-in and wait at auditorium for JAzz Band performance
• 8:30am - Jazz band warm-up/S&E students sit in auuditorium
• 9am-9:30am - Jazz Band Performance
• 9:30am - Jazz Band watch other jazz bands/Some S&E students may go warm-up
• 10am-12:30pm - S&E Performances/Non-S&E Students will, we will find a place for you to sit and wait and relax
• 12:30-2:30 - Lunch at Pier Park (Hopefully the S&E Rooms will be on time)
• 2:30-4pm - Final S&E Performances
• 4pm - Depart for MHS
• 6:30ish - Arrive MHS/Unload/Go Home

Welcome back! I hope all of you enjoyed your break and are ready to get back at it! We are now in the home stretch of another school year.  Can you believe it? Sit tight and fasten your seat belts.  There will be A LOT going on within the band as well as around school right up to the end of the year.

State MPA - This Saturday is the FBA State Jazz/S&E MPA.  Earlier this week I sent out the schedule for everyone.  You can access that along with the itinerary for the bus transportation by CLICKING HERE.


Percussion Preview Concert - Next Tuesday the 29th, our percussion will be giving a preview concert to get ready for the big concert in April.  This will be at 7:30pm in the gym.  We invite you to come out and get a sneak peak at the work-in-progress.

Pensacola Jazz Fest - The Jazz Band will be performing at Pensacola Jazz Fest next Saturday, April 2nd.  All jazz students will need to get their own rides and meet at Seville Square by 9:45am.  We will watch Hobbs perform at 10am and the Blackwater Beats will perform at 10:30.  This is all FREE.  After we are done, those students are free to stick around or leave.

GCGPC Championships - Guard will have their final competition performance on April 2nd at Tate HS.  This will be you last chance to see these amazing students in competition.  Please make plans to come out.  The schedule is TBD.

Next Year - We have pretty much finalized all dates for next year.  These include Band Day, Guard and Percussion Auditions, and all Marching Band dates.  All of these dates are on the calendar and we will also send out fliers and more info for everything.  Here are all of the dates up to July:

Hello All,

This will be last weekly update until the end of Spring Break.  I hope all of you enjoy your break and do something fun and/or simply relax.  You have all earned it!
 
Concert MPA - A very big CONGRATULATIONS to the Concert and Symphonic Band for 2 OUTSTANDING performances this past Thursday at the FBA Concert MPA.  Both groups were spectacular and earned straight Superior ratings.  We are so proud of the hard work from all of these students!

Winterguard - This Saturday is yet another chance to see our amazing MHS Winterguard perform at Escambia HS.  This is the final performance before the GCGPC Championships in April.  Please come out and support these wonderful students!

State Jazz/S&E - The State Jazz/S&E MPA will take place on Saturday, March 26th at Rutherford HS in Panama City.  This is the Saturday after Spring Break.  We will take a bus there and back.  We will leave at 5:30am from MHS.  The return time is TBD.  As soon as we receive the S&E schedule, we will have a full itinerary available.  The Jazz Band will perform at 9am that morning.  

Percussion Preview Concert - The Percussion will be having a preview concert on Tuesday, March 29th at 7:30pm.  This is in preparation for the big percussion concert on April 29th.  This is a FREE concert.  Please plan to attend.

Jazz Fest - The Jazz Band will be performing at the Pensacola Jazz Fest on Saturday, April 2nd at 10:30am.  Hobbs MS will also be performing at 10am.  This is another FREE concert in which they will be performing all new tunes.  Please make plans to come out and enjoy a day of Jazz!

After Spring Break - When we return from Spring Break, we will hit the ground running with finishing up everything for this year, while preparing for next year.  The summer calendar is mostly complete at this point if you would like to preview that.  All percussion and guard events have also been posted.  Be ready for lots of activities and events when we return :-)
