This Week in the Mighty Black & Gold

Hello All,

Welcome back! I hope all of you enjoyed your break and are ready to get back at it! We are now in the home stretch of another school year.  Can you believe it? Sit tight and fasten your seat belts.  There will be A LOT going on within the band as well as around school right up to the end of the year.

Fair Shares - All fair shares must be paid before the end of the school year.  Please go ahead and pay these off now.  You can CLICK HERE to pay online or send in cash or check and put it in the money box.  

State MPA - This Saturday is the FBA State Jazz/S&E MPA.  Earlier this week I sent out the schedule for everyone.  You can access that along with the itinerary for the bus transportation by CLICKING HERE.


Percussion Preview Concert - Next Tuesday the 29th, our percussion will be giving a preview concert to get ready for the big concert in April.  This will be at 7:30pm in the gym.  We invite you to come out and get a sneak peak at the work-in-progress.

Pensacola Jazz Fest - The Jazz Band will be performing at Pensacola Jazz Fest next Saturday, April 2nd.  All jazz students will need to get their own rides and meet at Seville Square by 9:45am.  We will watch Hobbs perform at 10am and the Blackwater Beats will perform at 10:30.  This is all FREE.  After we are done, those students are free to stick around or leave.

GCGPC Championships - Guard will have their final competition performance on April 2nd at Tate HS.  This will be you last chance to see these amazing students in competition.  Please make plans to come out.  The schedule is TBD.

Next Year - We have pretty much finalized all dates for next year.  These include Band Day, Guard and Percussion Auditions, and all Marching Band dates.  All of these dates are on the calendar and we will also send out fliers and more info for everything.  Here are all of the dates up to July:

May 16th, 18th – 20th 6pm-8:30pm - Percussion audition camp

May 21st  – ALL WIND AUDITIONS DUE USING FLIPGRID APP 
May 23rd, 25th – 27th 4pm-7pm – Rookie Camp 
 
June 6th – 9th 5:30pm-9pm – Guard Camp 
June 13th – 16th 5:30pm-9pm – Guard Camp 
June 20th – 24th 6:30pm-9:30pm – Percussion Camp 
June 27th – 30th 6:30pm-9:30pm – Percussion Camp 
 
July 5th 6pm-9pm – Full Band Rehearsal 
July 7th 6pm-9pm – Full Band Rehearsal 
July 11th – 14th 1pm-9pm – BAND CAMP 
July 18th  – 21st 1pm-9pm – BAND CAMP 
July 21st 7pm – Preview Show
