Hello All,

I hope this email finds you doing well! We are entering into the final week of MPA's this week.  Before I talk about that though I would like to say once again how proud I am of both Jazz Bands for their performances this past Friday at the FBA Jazz MPA.  This was the first time Milton has taken a group to participate in Jazz MPA and I think we represented well.  Our ratings were what they were but we had fun in the process and the performance! Kudos to all of the hard working students! 

This week, we will be taking all three of the concert bands to their Music Performance Assessments.  Panther Band will go Thursday at Pensacola HS and Concert and Symphonic Bands will go Saturday at Ft. Walton Beach HS.  Panther Band will perform at 3:30 pm. Concert Band performs at 2:30.  Symphonic Band performs at 7:00 pm.  These performances are absolutely FREE so I encourage you to come out and listen to these fine groups! This may be the only chance you'll get to hear these particular tunes.  Students will need to make sure that you have all of your concert black uniform parts minus the lights.  

Parents going on the band trip, I have uploaded the video from the Chaperon meeting as well as the PowerPoint to our website, miltonhighschoolband.com.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Hello all,

Welcome to what may be the busiest three weeks of the semester! With MPA's, trip meetings, and rehearsals, there is A LOT to get through.  I want to first congratulate those students who participated in he FBA Solo & Ensemble MPA at Gulf Breeze HS this past Friday.  Our students earned a total of 12 Superior ratings and four excellent ratings:

The indoor groups also had power performances this past Saturday at the Pace High School indoor competition.  All three groups once again represented Milton very well.  There are only two more chances to see these groups in competition this year so if you have yet to see them, the Daphne HS and Tate shows will be your last chances.  

For the first time in Milton's history, we will be participating in the Jazz MPA this Friday.  This will be held at Washington HS and is totally FREE! I encourage you to come out and see our two groups perform.  Stewart Street Soul will perform at 3:15 while Blackwater Beats will perform at 6:15.

Finally, If you didn't read my last email, we are now accepting online payments.  Once you login to your charms account, navigate to the "Finances" page then click "Make Miscellaneous Payment" to pay band fair share or indoor fees or click "Make Trip Payment" to pay for the current band trip.  There is a 2.5% processing fee plus Paypal charges and extra 30 cents so please add 30 cents to all payments,

Hello All, 

It's another fun-filled week in the Mighty Black & Gold.  I want to brag on our indoor groups for their performances this past Saturday at Escambia High School.  All three represented Milton very well with our percussion earning 1st place in their class, our JV Winterguard earning 5th place in their class, and the Varsity Winterguard earning 3rd place in their class.  They are all working so hard and I can see the improvement with every performance.  If you haven’t seen these groups, you will have three more chances for the competition season including this Saturday at Pace High School.  I encourage all of you to come out and see the hard work from our students and staff! 

As we get closer to the band trip and even the end of the year, it is getting to be crunch time to get fair share payments turned in.  There are SEVERAL individuals who have quite a bit of payments still owed to the band. Most of these payments were due back in December.  We have bills that are owed and we can't pay them without the fair share payments. These bills include transportation, uniform parts, and others spelled out in the band handbook. Some of you have marching band and indoor fees owed and some have the additional trip payments owed.  We have given you several opportunities to earn money through fundraisers including the current phone charger cord fundraiser found on our website.  Please look at your account on Charms office and make sure you are up to date.  At this point, unless you have fulfilled the BPA incentive, you should have a balance of $100 in your account left to pay. Please get this money in!
