This is a reminder that leadership and the additional members that I have talked to will need to meet at the school at 9am tomorrow for the TR Jackson Parade. We will be back by 11am.  

The Rhodes ES parade has been moved to indoors due to the potential for rain.  Because of this we are no longer going to be able to have the entire marching band for this parade.  We will use the folks that participated in the TR Jackson parade for the Rhodes ES parade.  Everyone else will need to go to class and normal lunches.  ALL MARCHING BAND MEMBERS will need to meet at the band room at 1pm to get ready for the pep rally.  Remember, wear full uniforms minus helmets for the pep rally.  Thank you.

Hello All,

To say we are proud of our MB&G is an understatement! Our students really "brought it" on a rainy Saturday night in Elba! So much was against us this week on top of that day, but these obstacles were thrown aside while we pushed forward and surpassed everything! We left Elba earning straight superior ratings, best in class drum major, 1st runner up in class 4A, best overall drum major, and 2nd overall out of 13 bands.  As awesome as this is, the reward of the memories made, blood, sweat and tears given, and the time spent with each other is priceless! Great job MB&G.  I will be posting the video of the performance soon. Parents, I want to thank all of you for your support of these students throughout this season and that day.  You really made things help go smoothly as we made the decisions we had to make in light of the rain and everything else.  THANK YOU!

Now we get to sit back and enjoy the infamous week of Homecoming this week.  Please pay special attention to the itinerary for this week as we have several events that the marching band will be a part of.  There are several different uniforms that we will be wearing as well.  See below:

Wednesday - Dress to represent any age
Thursday - 9th-Blue, 10th-Western, 11th-Hawaiian, 12th-Greek

This Thursday is our final marching band rehearsal. :-(  This is also the dress up rehearsal.  You may wear any costume you wish as long as you can play and march and it's not too revealing in any way.  Immediately after the rehearsal we will hold the year medallion ceremony on the track field.  Both of these are required.  Please make sure you are in attendance.  

Finally, we are still in need of fair shares to be turned in.  At this point, there is only one more fair share due aside from the instrument rental fee.  We will be posting volunteer hours on charms financial statements soon.  We are waiting till marching season is completed to document all of these at once.  Please be patient with this.

Just wanted to give you the info we just talked with the students about in regards to tonight's game:
 
First of all, the Pace/Milton game will be played tonight (Thursday, October 24th 2019) with kickoff at 7:30.  The band itinerary will be as it would have been tomorrow night with the band meeting at 5:45.  We instructed the students to contact parents and inform you of this.  If there are scheduling conflicts for tonight, we are asking the students to inform us of this and bring a note from parents to bring us tomorrow.  This is a required performance, however, we are very understanding of these conflicts.  Again, if students have prior commitments with anything, that is fine.  Neither Pace or Milton will be performing halftime shows on the field tonight. Uniforms will be exactly as we did for the Mosley.  Winds/Percussion - shoes, socks, bibbers, jacket, sash.  Guard is in uniform with jackets with no "done up" hair or make-up.  Here is the itinerary for tonight:

Hello All,

Keep it up MB&G!!! We are in the final week of competition season with the Pea River Marching Band Competition this Saturday.  Please pay careful attention to the itinerary below.  Saturday will be a busy afternoon/evening.  Make sure you bring money for dinner at the concession stand.  Please be aware that a finals performance will depend on how we do at Prelims.  For the retreat at the finals awards ceremony, all Leadership and Seniors will participate on the field with the rest of the band staying in the stands.  Please be aware that we will not unload Friday night after the game so everything will be ready to go for Saturday.  I also do not plan to unload the trucks when we return on Saturday since we will be returning late.  

Please be aware that the rehearsal this Thursday is our only one this week.  That being said, if you are not present at this rehearsal, you will not be able to go to the game at Pace this Friday.  

Be aware that the "Bring the Heat" event at Whataburger has been cancelled for Monday.  We are looking at a time to reschedule.  Pace's drumline was not going to be able to attend since their game from Friday night was rescheduled to Monday.  

Finally,  ALL FAIR SHARES SHOULD BE UP TO DATE.  We owe $41,000 in bills for this season for services rendered.  Please get these up to date now.  The 4th fair share's are due this Saturday.
