Hello All,

And welcome to competition season for marching band!! The next THREE weeks are the busiest 3 weeks of marching season with major performances each Saturday.  We begin with our own Blackwater Classic Marching Band Festival this Saturday.  Then move on with the FBA marching music performance assessment at Ft. Walton Beach High School next Saturday.  After that, we go to Gulf Breeze High School on a Tuesday Night to simply perform for all of our peers from all of the high schools in Santa Rosa County.  Finally, that same week on the third Saturday, we close out competition season performing twice at the Emerald Coast Classic Competition at Choctawhatchee High School.  It is highly important that you keep an eye on the charms calendar this week as we have a few added rehearsals as well as itineraries for each day.  All rehearsals are vital to attend as we will be adding and fixing as needed.  We can't do this when students are missing.  Please keep healthy! 

Thank you so much to everyone whose has signed up to volunteer so far for our first Blackwater Classic Marching Band Festival!! There are still a few spots that need to be filled.  Please continue to sign up by clicking HERE.  We will have a volunteers meeting at then end of rehearsal on Thursday at 6:30 this week.  Please make plans to be there as we will go over all of the ins and outs of your responsibilities.  Students will have a sign up this week for items wee need you to do. All leadership and Symphonic Band, you will be performing our National Anthem to start the festival this Saturday.  We will rehearse this in class.  We will also choose which additional percussion we need.  

This Tuesday at 5:30 we will take group/section pictures.  Please clean your uniforms and bring everything in for this picture.  We will meet in the band room first and line up, then head to the stadium.  After we finish, you will have time to change and begin rehearsal.

Parent shirts are in! If you have already paid for your shirts, I will send them home with the student.  We can give you your shirts upon payment at the end of each rehearsal this week.

Hello All,

Hope all is well with everyone this weekend.  PART 4 IS HERE!! PART 4 IS HERE!! We are very excited to announce that we did receive the final part for our show this weekend and will be focusing on that all week.  Because of this, I have rescheduled our group/section pictures to next Tuesday.  This Tuesday will be a normal rehearsal.  

Believe it or not, competition season is just around the corner.  In fact, it begins next Saturday, October 1st with our own festival, the Blackwater Classic Marching Band Festival.  It is looking to be a huge event on the MHS campus, just take a  look at the line-up by clicking HERE.  This is our first band festival that we have hosted in nearly 20 years.  We need your help in making this a successful event.  There are PLENTY of jobs for folks do volunteer for ranging from equipment help to hospitality room attendant and beyond.  This is a BPA incentive event and so all volunteers will earn money off of student fair share! Just CLICK HERE and sign up for a slot.  Remember, without your help, this event cannot be a success.  

This Friday we will be hosting Hobbs and King Middle School.  They will march in with us and play in the stands with us! Because of this, we will meet at 5:45 instead of 6pm this week so we aren't rushed with m arching in and pregame.  If you would like to volunteer for the concessions or the chaperone side, please click the links below:

If you ordered a parent polo shirt, they did arrive.  You can pick them up or have your child pick them up at the band office at any time.  If you placed an order for a show shirt, they should be here this week, maybe even tomorrow.  We can send the shirts home with your child as soon as we receive payment.  remember, it's $10 per shirt.

Things are just trucking right along with the Mighty B&G! 

This week, we will have the 2nd mass meat sticking in the cafeteria on Wednesday.  Because it is a half-day as well, we will begin at 1pm and be done by 5:30, hopefully sooner.  Parents, if you would like to volunteer and fulfill another BPA incentive, please sign up HERE.

Friday night at the game is Band and ROTC Senior Night.  We will be giving a little form to our seniors Monday to fill out with some information to be announced at the game.  Parents of seniors, we would like to have all of you at the ready by 6:50 at the area by the band section where the front ensemble usually warms up at the northeast corner. The senior recognition will start about 7pm.

Finally, this Tuesday is college day at PSC for all Juniors & Seniors.  This is not required but it is a good chance for students to get some information about different colleges around the area and meet with some college counselors.  Because we also have rehearsal that night, we have asked our students that if they go to it, please go to the 6pm-7pm shift at PSC Milton.  We will still have rehearsal at the normal time from 6pm-9:30.  Juniors & seniors, if you decide not to go to college day, you must be at rehearsal at 6pm.

​I have submitted the design to Paradise Screen Printing to get professionally "done up" for this year's show shirt.  I am currently acquiring all of the marching band student tee shirt sizes and will be placing that order this afternoon.  I will be placing the order for parent, friend, and other non-marching band student shirts next Friday.  These shirts for the 2nd order will be $10 per shirt.  If you would like to place and order for a shirt, please got to the following link and fill out the form:
