This will be the last weekly update for a few weeks. Please make sure you pay close attention to the charms calendar for schedules. The next time the FULL Band will meet is Monday, July 10th.
We had another very successful rookie camp last week! I want to once again welcome all 73 of our new members into the Mighty Black & Gold family! With the addition of our newest family members, this brings our total of the marching band to 222 members and including non-marching members and jazz band, we are looking at about 245 in the entire program. It is just hard to fathom the amount of growth that we have been blessed with. I cannot wait to see what amazing things these 245 are going to do over the next year!
Percussion Camp and Guard Camp will take place over the next week. Please make sure you contact John Whiddon or Samantha Byrd for any attendance issues or questions about the camps.
The Band Parent Association will have it's first monthly meeting this Tuesday at 7pm. Parents, remember since you have a child in the Mighty Black & Gold, you are automatically a member of the BPA. I encourage you to attend these monthly meetings as they will go over volunteer opportunities and several other items. These meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
If you need anything during this summer, please email either Mr. Weaver at [email protected] or me at [email protected]. We will check it on and off over the break so please be patient with when we respond. If there are any emergencies, our phone numbers are listed in the band handbook which can be downloaded the following website:
