I hope this email finds you well and looking forward to the LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL! :-) This will be the last weekly update email for the next several weeks until the full band starts back up in July. I have placed the rest of the summer calendar at the bottom. Please look over all information thoroughly including dates and times. Congratulations! We made it!
Loss - As we begin this week, we know that it is on a somber note. We had a loss in the band family with a former/current student, Faith Ganus. We will be addressing this in each class and counselors will be on campus to help students. I do not want to go into detail in this email as we are all still grieving and wrapping our minds around this tragic situation. We are starting the process of organizing various things to help her family. As we receive more information including funeral arrangements, we will help pass this along. Please keep her family, our students, and teachers in your thoughts and prayers.
New Members - I would like to once again welcome our newest members of the MB&G BandFamily! You made it through Rookie Camp and are now set for an amazing journey. Now the work begins. We are counting on you and the rest of our members to practice what we have trained you to do so when July comes around, we can hit the ground running learning our show. For now, enjoy your accomplishment.
Guard/Percussion Camps - Over the next few weeks, the guard and percussion students will be involved with your camps. See the schedule below. Please make sure you communicate with the guard and percussion staff directly as to attendance or any other situation that may arise during these weeks. Remember, if you are in town, you must attend these camps. They are all required. Here is the contact info for the directors:

Wind/Jazz Auditions - We thank you for your patience as we try to get through the auditions as quickly as possible. We hope to have results out this week. We will post these EVERYWHERE as soon as they are ready.
BPA Meeting/Help - The Monthly Band Parent Association Meeting is the Monday at 7pm in the band hall. This is in-person, however, if you cannot make it, we will also be hosting a simultaneous Zoom meeting. See info below.
BPA Kabob Meat Sticking - The BPA is in need of help to make and marinate our famous shish kabobs on Tuesday, June 15th. We are in desperate need to restock our inventory before the Milton Riverfest event. If you are available, please CLICK HERE.
Milton Riverfest - The BPA is in desperate need for help the Milton Riverfest event on July 4th. This event is all day but the volunteer opportunityis broken up into shifts. This is a great opportunity to build connections and bonds that will last a lifetime! If you are available, please CLICK HERE.
Seniors - Be ready for a sappy post on Tuesday :-) Don't forget to read the papers on the doors in the band room if you come through on Monday.
Final Thoughts - This year has been a real adventure. As we close out everything, please enjoy your well-earned break. This is our chance to reenergize and relax and give our minds and bodies some downtime. As you start your break, wherever you go, please stay safe. Have fun and keep in touch with your leadership and us. Just because we are away for a time, doesn't mean we are away period. So enjoy and be safe and be ready to go for our camps in June and July. We love yall!
