Hello all,
Well football season is over and now we move on to concert/indoor season. On the schedule below, you will see the first meetings of our indoor groups.
On Monday, anyone interested in participating in the Black Gold Percussion Ensemble will need to meet at 6:30 in the chorus room. If you did not get a change to sign-up on the list at the percussion door, you can still attend this meeting and get all of the information. There is an audition process that John Whiddon, our percussion director, will go over at the meeting. You do not necessarily have to be in the percussion section to audition for the indoor percussion.
Also this week, the indoor colorguard will begin the audition clinics. These clinics will be this Thursday and next Tuesday and Wednesday. The actual audition will be next Thursday. If you are at all interested in performing in the JV or Varsity winterguards, pleased make sure you make plans to attend the clinics and audition dates. There will be a parent meeting for all potential indoor colorguard students next Wednesday. Just like with percussion, you do not have to be a member of the colorguard or in the colorguard class to audition for indoor! Ms. Samantha Byrd will be taking over the reins of colorguard director as Mrs. Bremke is needing to spend more time at her job where she has earned a well-deserved promotion! Mrs. Bremke will still be around and helping out but Ms. Byrd will be the one planning and running the guard rehearsals.
Parents, please take note that the monthly MHSBPA meeting will be on Monday of this week at 7pm. We moved it from Tuesday to give everyone a chance to enjoy election day :-). Please come out to this meeting as we will do a wrap up of football season and go over whats ahead as we enter concert season.
The Veteran's Day parade is this Friday. This is a required performance that we give for our wonderful veterans as well as all of Milton. Pace High School band and a little bit of Jay will be joining us for this parade. MHS students will meet at 8am on Friday. The parade starts at 9:45 at the bus ramp at MHS. The route goes down Stewart Street then left on Berryhille, then right on Main Street. The parade will end at the Veteran's Memorial Plaza. Students will be dismissed afterwards.
