Well that flew by! The MPA season is officially concluded with the 2016 Florida Bandmasters Association concert music performance assessment and what a performance it was! If you were not in attendance, you really missed out on some incredible performances by both the Concert band and the Symphonic band. As ratings go, the Concert band maintained their standard of overall excellence earning 3 excellents on stage and a superior in sight-reading while the symphonic band once again earned an overall superior with 3 superiors on stage and an excellent in sight-reading. We are extremely proud of these student performers! I want to think all of the parent and student helpers that came along and helped to make everything run smoothly. Now we will start working on getting the spring concert ready.
We have several important items occurring over the next couple of weeks, the first of witch is county instrument inventory. We will be doing inventory on all school-owned instruments on Tuesday. If you have a school-owned instrument, be it marching and/or concert, please return them to school Monday and no later than Tuesday. If instrument is not returned, you will be responsible for monetary values of that instrument.
Next we have the second big shish kabob meat sticking on Tuesday at 1:30-6pm. This is for all students as well as adult volunteers. The monthly MHSBPA meeting will be held following the meat sticking at 7pm.
Thursday will be the last trip meeting before we leave the following Wednesday. This meeting will be held at 6:30 in the band room. We will also be hosting a spirit night on Thursday at Firehouse Subs in Milton from 5pm - 9pm. Don't forget to place your receipt in the box at the register.
