Outstanding first week of camp to all! Thank you to the students for your hard work this past week. Thank you to the parents for volunteering your time to keep our students healthy an fed! Let's keep up it and push through just one more week and showoff on Thursday!
Carwash - Thank you for your time with the carwash today. CLICK HERE to download the follow-up letter for you to use to collect your pledges. You will see that we washed a total of 216 vehicles throughout the day. Please collect pledges and turn in by next Thursday. Turn in your pledge sheet and money together in the moneybox in front of the office. Thank you for your hard work and thank you to the parents for chaperoning.
Band Camp Week 2 - This week's schedule is the same Monday-Wednesday. Please be aware that Thursday we will go 8am-11am in the football stadium. Make sure you have communicated with rides and lined everything up
Band Camp Help - Thank you to the parents that helped last week. If you are interested and available to help this week, please sign-up by clicking the yellow helping hand symbol on the event(s) on the calendar.
Summer Uniform - We will be wearing summer uniforms for performances until around September. This uniform consists of blue jeans or blue jean shorts and the black "claw" band shirt. Students will receive shirts this week. You will wear this uniform this Thursday for the preview show.
2023 Preview Show - This Thursday is the first performance of the 2023-24 MB&G Marching Band. You do not want to miss this. Our students will be showing off just for you. The show begins at 7pm with the march-in at the football stadium. Then a little pregame show and 3 runs of the what we know of the halftime show. Be aware that the 3rd run of the show, we invite one family member per student to march and participate on the field :-) You will get to experience. first hand, what your children do.
BPA Concession Training - This Tuesday 7pm-9pm, the BPA will be giving a concession training. Any parent planning to work in the concessions for football games or other events needs to make plans to attend. Please contact Arlene Wires at [email protected] or (850)910-5636 for any questions.
Uniform Ordering Deadline - This Friday is the deadline to order bibbers and shoes for winds and percussion. Do not miss this deadline or else the bibbers will increase by $50+. CLICK HERE for ordering info.
Freshmen Day Pep Rally - Friday July 28 is Freshmen Day at MHS. Freshmen students are encouraged to participate in all of the festivities that SGA will be putting on. Please call the MHS front office for info. Sophomores - Seniors will meet in the band room at 10am to get ready for the pep rally. We should be done by 12:30. Please wear summer uniforms for this.
Marching Band Rehearsals - When we start back, Tuesday/Thurs Marching band rehearsals will begin. Just like with band camp, it is vital and required that all students are present for each and every rehearsal. In general, all rehearsals are Tuesday 6pm-8:30 and Thursday rehearsals will be 6pm-9pm until the 2nd week if school. After that, Thursdays will be 4pm-7pm.
Football Schedule Change - Just an fyi, I found out this past Friday that the first game of the season on August 25th is now an AWAY game at Orange Beach HS. More info on this to come. Please adjust calendar accordingly. We are planning to perform at the is game.
