Hello All,
Band Truck - Well what a whirlwind of a day this past Saturday! They day started as smooth as could be with beautiful weather and excitement in the air. We loaded the buses and the truck and headed out. All of the lights were green and the traffic was minimal. Then the hurdle was placed and the plans were thrown out the window as the truck, with all of the our instruments and equipment, broke down in the middle of 87. Without our amazing band parents, we would not have been able to perform at our time for FBA. Thank you to all of you that stopped and dove into action to move instruments from one truck to another and carried equipment! Once again, you proved what it means to be a part of the MB&G. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
FBA - With all of the obstacles thrown at us this week, our students pulled off a phenomenal performance at FBA! We earned an overall SUPERIOR rating this year and we could not be more proud! Way to go students!
Full Marching Band Pics - Please make sure you bring your uniform to school on Tuesday as we will be taking our full marching band and section pics at 4pm that day in the football stadium. We should be done around 5:30.
Santa Rosa County Exhibition - Tuesday, October 19th, all five high school marching bands in Santa Rosa County will be in performance at Gulf Breeze HS. This is a non-adjudicated performance and is free to everyone. Names will be pulled from a hat to determine the performance order. This is also required by all marching band students. Here is the itinerary:
5pm - Call Time/Depart for GBHS
6pm - Line up
6:30 - All 5 bands march-in
6:45-8pm - Performances
8:15 - Depart for MHS
9pm - Arrive/Unload/Dismiss
Pea River Marching Band Classic - Our final marching band competition will be held at Elba HS in Elba, AL on Saturday, October 23rd. We are still waiting for a schedule from the organizers for this event. We have been told that we will probably be performing around 7:30pm. We know that there are a few students taking the SAT/ACT that day and we are trying to plan accordingly. Here is the POTENTIAL itinerary for that day:
1:45 - Call Time
2pm - Depart for Elba HS
4:30 - Arrive Elba HS/Unload
5pm-6pm - Watch Bands
6:30 - Warm-up
7:30ish - Perform (TENTATIVE!!!)
8pm - Awards
8:45 - Depart for MHS
11:15 - Arrive MHS/Unload/Dismiss
Sweet Seasons - The BPA needs your help each weekend this month! They will be selling concessions on Saturdays and Sundays this month at Sweet Seasons Farm in North Milton. This is a wonderful location with lots to see and do. Please come out and support our students through the BPA. Remember, we are still raising money for new uniforms and we need all the help we can get. Just click the yellow helping hand symbol on the event on the calendar to sign-up.
