Band Camp - It's that time! Band Camp 2023 is here. I hope everyone is excited and ready to get our show on the field. This is the most important 2 weeks of the beginning of marching season. Please make sure you are taking care of your bodies and getting prepared now. Bring water thermous, sunscreen, phone chargers, snacks, pencils, instruments, music, money, and GOOD ATTITUDES! The schedule is below. As a reminder, the July 20th Band Camp date is morning only, 8am-11am, since the preview show is later that evening.
Band Camp Dress-up Days - See attached for the themes. Who's gonna win this year?? Bring it!
Car Wash - This Saturday is our mas band carwash. Parents, WE NEED YOUR HELP. There are PLENTY of slots available to chaperon the carwash. CLICK HERE to sign up for any of these locations. This event will not be a success ulness we have parents to chaperon. If we don't have the chaperons, we will have to close that location. All morning shift chaperons will need to meet at the band room to get equipment that we are providing. All afternoon chaperons will need to bring the equipment back to the band room. Students, make sure you are getting those pledges! Sheets are available at the front of the band room. Sophomores sign-up on Monday and Freshmen on Tuesday.
Band Camp Cafe - The dinner menu is attached. The BPA will be in the band room starting at 12:15 each day for anyone who wants to add money to their band camp cafe account. We accept cash, check (with students name and section and parents name and phone number on it) made out the MHSBPA, debit, credit, cash app and venmo. Any money that is left after the 2nd week will be added to their band account.

Uniform Fittings - Winds and Percussion will have uniform fittings during sectionals on Tuesday of this week. All new winds and percussion will be fitted during this time. Any returning members needing new parts will also need to be fitted. This is for our current band uniform. I will be sending a link to everyone with ordering info for shoes and bibbers. Please do not order these until I send this out. You will see exactly which sizes of those you will need.
Colorguard uniforms - Colorgaurd has already been fitted for their uniforms. We will be submitting the order for these soon. The deadline to turn in money ($150) is August 18th. We will distribute these uniforms when we receive the payment.
Masterclass Wednesday/Thursday - This Wednesday and Thursday, we will have guests on campus helping out our winds, and possibly percussion and guard, for the first 1.5 hours and band camp. These guests are masters of their instruments and will be passing on the tricks of their trade to our students. Be prepared to learn from some of the best on their instruments.
Preview Show - Go ahead and make plans now to be at the first performance of the 2023-24 MHS Mighty Black & Gold on Thursday, July 20th at 7pm in the Football stadium. This is a free performance that you do not want to miss it!
