Well that break went by fast!! I hope everyone has gotten plenty of rest this week and is gearing up and ready to hit the ground running starting on Monday! I know I cannot wait to see everyone again and hear all of the stories!!
First, I want to say thank you to all of our students and parents for an amazing cruise experience during our band trip! We received so many complements from folks on the cruise as well as cruise and ship staff on how well behaved our students were. Even Jason, our fearless cruise leader, said that we were the most organized and behaved group he has ever taken. Thank you again! If you took pictures on trip, please make sure you upload them to the group travel video website so they can compile them and give us our complimentary trip DVD. CLICK HERE for more information.

The Jazz Band will be in performance at several events as you can see above. We invite you to come out to Seville Square in downtown Pensacola on Sunday, April 8th at 10am to hear these outstanding students perform at the Pensacola Jazz Fest. We will be the opening show of the day. Many other schools from around the area will also be performing after us. All of this will take place at the gazebo in the middle of Seville Square. We will also be performing at the Imogene Theater on Thursday, April 12th at 6:30. This is a major fundraiser for the band and tickets are $5 at the door. You don't want to miss out on this concert!!
The Crawfish Festival is less than a month away and we still have PLENTY of volunteer positions available. Please CLICK HERE and sign-up for one or multiple shifts. We will have a volunteers meeting the week of the event to go over what your responsibilities will be. This is a MAJOR money-making event for the BPA and in-turn for our students. Only you can make this event a success. Remember, our goal now is to raise money for newly designed uniforms. Please Help!
Finally, the MHSBPA is in the process of electing new officers for the 2018-19 school year. If you are interested or know someone who is interested, please email Ann Sutton at [email protected] to submit the name for nomination. Offices to be filled are President, 1st Vice President in charge of Operations, 2nd Vice President of Administration, Secretary, Treasurer, and one Trustee. We will vote on these positions at the April BPA meeting on April 10th.
Finally, the end of the year will be here before you know it. Students, don't let this home-stretch and end of the year anticipation make you falter in your school work and practice time. Remember to finish strong and don't let the business of the next 2 months overwhelm you. Remember, you have 240 folks at your disposal including Mr. Weaver and me to help you through whatever you need. All you have to do is ask!
That is it for now. I hope everyone has a phenomenal week!
