Hello All,
And we're back!! What a great trip we had at Walt Disney World! Thank you students for being on your best behavior and representing MHS well. Thank you as well to all of the parents for helping in your various ways and capacities throughout the trip! I have enjoyed hearing all of the stories as the students got to school this morning and throughout the day. I am so glad we all got to share in these memories together.
**Just a note about absences today: There are quite a few students out today. Please understand that your attendance was and is expected today and all week. We did not return that late last night. I know we all need recuperation, but exams are also next week. It is your responsibility to come to class and complete the work that is asked. It is very disappointing to see the amount of students that are out today because of the trip. If this continues to happen in the future, there is a good chance that the school board will no longer allow the band to go on trips like this. This is why I am spending time to share this with you.**
Now that the concert and trip are past us, it is time to start getting ready for the next big thing. FBA will be upon us before you know it. This week and especially when we return from Christmas Break, we will be reading a lot of music to narrow things down for these concerts.
Just a few things to take note of this week:
The jazz band has a couple performances either at Berryhill Manor and for the students at lunches.
The band Christmas party is this Friday starting at 4pm to 7:30ish. We will host the annual kickball tournament and a movie. The BPA will be providing a pasta bar dinner for the students at around 5:45. The party will end with a secret Santa gift exchange among the students. Students, if you would like to participate in this gift exchange, please bring a gift on Friday before the party. Please spend no less than $5 on a gift if you would like to participate.
The band parent Christmas party is this Saturday at 7pm at Camelot Junction. This is the building at the corner of Berryhill Road and Willing Street in downtown Milton. Kelly Henrichsen will be providing the information to you at the BPA meeting Tuesday night and probably over email.
