Hello All,

Competition Season - Wow! Congrats! And AMAZING! For three weekends in a row, our students performed their socks off and blew the invisible roof out of all the stadiums! Our students earned straight superior ratings all three weekends closing out our competition season at Pensacola HS for the Tiger Invitational.  We are proud of each of you and so thankful for you as well.  Thank you to all of the parents that chaperoned and drove the trucks as well.  Also, powdered sugar and glitter is dangerous LOL! :-)

SRC Marching Band Exhibition - This Tuesday is the exhibition at Pace HS.  This is a FREE event and will feature all 5 marching bands of Santa Rosa county including the MB&G.  Students must secure their own ride with their instrument to Pace.  Everyone will meet at the band truck at 6pm.  We will let you know where this will be parked.  All bands will also simultaneously march-in together and block up on the field for a photo opp.  The drum majors from each group will draw numbers out of a hat to determine performance order.  The night should be done around 9pm.  Parents, please make plans to attend and tell everyone!

Tri-M Induction Ceremony - Ms. Ruiz has been working hard on putting together the Tri-M induction ceremony.  This will take place at the auditorium this Wednesday, at 4:30pm.  Please plan to wear nice clothes for this.  Think Sunday's best.  There will be performances given throughout as well.  Parents are invited to attend as well. 

Thursday Rehearsal - Students are encouraged to dress-up in a costume for our final marching band rehearsal of the season this Thursday.  Please keep in mind that you must be able to play and march and the costume must be school appropriate.  Parents are encouraged to watch as well.  This rehearsal tends to be quite comical!

Year Medallion Ceremony - We will hold the annual year medallion ceremony in the band room or at the practice field right after the rehearsal starting at 5:30.  This is when students will receive the silver or gold medallions that represents a completion of a marching season.  Parents are invited to attend if you would like.  It is a very special event for our students.

Halloween Movie Night - There will be an optional Halloween movie night immediately after the ceremony.  We are trying to have this set up for outside, possibly on the football field. If we cannot be there, we will hold it in the band room. We will let you know as we get closer.  Students can bring snack, drinks, dinner, etc.  If it is outside, think about blankets and items to keep warm.

Friday - This Friday, there are many events taking place.  Make sure you look through the itineraries below on that day.  Leadership has a parade at TR Jackson, The full band has a parade at Rhodes ES,  Pep Rally, then game.  Please take note of uniforms for the parades and pep rally.  Call time for the game is 5:45.  We will have our future Panthers from Avalon joining us as well.  This will be the final game of the season for us :-( 

BPA Sweet Season Concessions - The BPA is still in need of lots of help for the concessions sales at Sweet Seasons. These sales over the years helped to purchase those amazing looking helmets and plumes we debuted at FBA.  Those represent thousands of hours and hard work from our BPA.  Parents and students, we need your help at these events to continue raising money for the rest of the uniform.  Please sign up. Bandsgiving Dinner - We are planning a Bandsgiving dinner night at the band room on Friday, November, 4th 6pm-9pm.  We will not be traveling to Godby HS for the game because of difficulty with securing buses.  We are planning for this to be a pot luck style dinner for all band students and active BPA members in celebration of the season and to give thanks and appreciation for each other.  There will be a list of food items that students can sign up to bring.  On this list are the "normal" Thanksgiving food items like, mashed potatoes, greens, dressing, etc.  There is also a signup for other items not on the list.  More info will be given in class this week.  This is not required.

Band Trip - The deadline to turn in trip intention forms and deposit is this Monday.  You can CLICK HERE for all of the trip info and forms.   Once I receive the form, I can go on charms and open up the ability for you to pay towards the trip online through your charms account.  I have already done this for everyone that has turned in a form.  I have also created the ability for any parent/siblings going on the trip to pay on their own accounts on charms.  I will send a "how to" link later this week for this.  Please get these in ASAP.

- 11:15 - Dismissed from Class
- 11:45 - Walk to Rhodes ES
- Noon - Setup at Rhodes
- 12:30-1pm - Parade
- 1pm - Walk back to MHS/Eat Lunch

Pep Rally
- Wear summer uniform or pink or costume
- 1:40 - Dismissed from class
- 2:40-3:24 - Pep Rally
