Hello All,

WELCOME BACK!!! Man those 4 weeks went by fast! But, I am so happy to get the family back together again.  We have lots of information to pass your way in this email so make sure you read all the way to the end.

First of all, it has been brought to my attention that some people don't know which emails are for which group within the band.  Just fyi my weekly emails are for the entire band (winds, guard, percussion, managers).  If there is a specific group I need to single out, I will specify as follows:

guard = colorguard
perc or percussion = percussion
winds  = all brass and woodwind instruments

We will start back with everyone this week! Please look at the schedule below.

There are lots of volunteer opportunities for our parents coming up over the next 3 weeks.  We need chaperones for the lock-in this Friday and Saturday, Med tent volunteers for Band Camp Days, Band Camp Cafe volunteers for Band Camp, and Carwash chaperones.  All parent volunteer opportunities can be viewed on our calendar by Clicking HERE.  look for the yellow helping hand sign under an event.  Just click that hand and you can see times and descriptions for the job in which you are volunteering. Parents, please look through this.  Our students deserve everything and we all need your help and support to keep this family going!

The Band Lock-in/Lock-out is this Friday and Saturday 7pm-7am.  This is for all of our students and chaperones.Students, you DO NOT want to miss this.  We will be traveling all around town starting at Milton and into Pensacola.  You can download a copy of the complete itinerary for the lock-in by clicking HERE.  We will hand this out as well to everyone on Monday as well.  Please read through times and what to bring.  If you need a medical form, CLICK HERE.

Lock-in Itnerary:
7pm - Arrive @MHS Band Hall
7:30pm-9:15pm - Relay Races in MHS Gym
9:45pm-11:15pm - CiCi's Pizza 9th Ave
11:45pm-1:45am - Skating @ Dreamland
2:15am-4:15am - Bowling @ Oops Alley
4:45am-6:30am - Swimming @ UWF Pool
7am- Beakfast @ MHS Band Hall/GO HOME and Rest for Band Camp

Students, We will be using a new app called UDBapp to help us set drill.  This is a FREE app for you.  Any Android, Apple, or Google device and use this app and can be found on their individual app stores.  This is for STUDENTS ONLY because we have purchased only a certain amount of licences. You will be asked to create a profile, this is FREE and will NOT send any emails or put you on any lists and it will NOT distribute any of your information.  Here are the step-by-step instructions below:

  1. Download UDBapp from the app store.
  2. Click on "Don't have an account? Sign-up"
  3. Enter Ensemble Code - milton2019
  4. Enter Ensemble Password - milton2019-ens
  5. Create a new personal account to use with UDBapp

If you have already created an account before this, just change your ensemble name with the information above.  Do not worry about putting in your "Performer Label" yet.  You will get this on the first day of Band Camp. We will be having a tutorial for this the last hour of rehearsal on Thursday.  Please do not wait to download this app and get it on your phone. You only need to access wifi one time on your device to download and set up.  After that, you will only need to download the drill.  No data is used with this app.

Parents, If you have any mobile devices that you will no longer need and are looking for a good home for them, please consider donating them to the MHS Band for those students that do not have access to a mobile device.  Please make sure you reset everything to factory default settings before you give them to us.

Finally, the band carwash will be here soon on Saturday, July 20th.  This is required participation by all of our students and will take place at 6 different locations around Milton.  Students will begin sign-ups on Monday of this week.  Please make sure you get out and get those pledges now.  The Pledge sheet and info can be found by clicking HERE.

That is all for now.  I can't wait to see all of you tomorrow! Have an awesome week!
