Hello All,
Welcome to the marching band competition season everyone! Over the next several weeks, The Mighty Black & Gold Marching Band will be in performing at 2 festival format, one county exhibition, and one full competition. The festival formats are the Blackwater Classic and FBA Marching MPA. These are where we will recieve a rating on a 5 point scale. The exhibition is on October 22nd and will simply be a "showoff" of all of the marching bands in Santa Rosa County. Finally, the full competition, hosted in Elba, Alabama, will pit us against some of the top marching bands in the region in a prelims/finals format. This is the busiest time for the marching band and attendance is extremely important at ALL events. Students, please make sure you take care of your bodies especially during this month. We need all hands on deck. Hold on everyone! This is gonna be quick!
Parents, WE STILL NEED HELP AT BLACKWATER CLASSIC! There are several open spots available on the sign-up. This will not be a success without you. I know we all work several hours a week, but our students need and deserve your support. Please help out where you can. Unfortunatly, you must be a school board apporved volunteer. Thank you to those who have already signed up. Please make sure you are at your locations at the times listed. Click the following link to sign up:

Students, don't forget about pictures tomorrow (Monday) at 4pm. Please make sure you bring your uniforms. You will need everything minus helmets. Colorguard, you will need to do hair and make up like it is a performance. You will have your uniforms Monday morning! :-) I will go ahead and tell you that once we are done with pictures, we will be doen for the evening.:-) Ya'll have been working hard and deserve to have the rest of the evening off! Managers, please make sure you wear show shirts and blue jeans. .
Everyone, the next month is going to fly by and will be very easy to get lost in when and where to be and also what to wear. Please look at the calendar way ahead of time so you can stay up to date with your schedules. Good luck to everyone and let's start the competition season off right!! :-)
