State S&E and Jazz MPA - If you haven't heard the news yet, our students an outstanding day in Tallahassee this past Saturday. All participants earned Superior ratings including the Blackwater Beats Jazz Band. All of our students performed so well and we are very proud of all of them. Thank you to our drivers for getting up supper early and driving everyone over there.
Indoor Groups - If you have yet to see our indoor groups, you are really missing out. They have also had outstanding performances these past few months at competitions, including this past Saturday. You have one final chance to see them at Tate HS this Saturday for the GCGPC Championships. See performance times below. Tickets are $10 at the door. Come on out let's cheer for our guard and percussion.
Pensacola Jazz Fest - The Blackwater Beats will be performing at Pensacola Jazz Fest this Sunday at 11am in Seville Square in Downtown Pensacola. This is a FREE performance and all are welcome to bring a chair and sit and listen to some wonderful jazz groups. The first school performs at 10am. Jazz students are to report at 10am as well.
Arts Festival - The BPA will be selling concessions at the Arts Festival at Benny Russell Park this Saturday and Sunday. We are in need of help for this. The event is 8am to 5pm. If you can't stay the whole day, that is fine. Even if it is just an hour, any help is appreciated. Us the following links to sign-up to help.

PSC Scholarship and Entry Auditions - Mr. Holsworth from Pensacola State College will be here 5th and 6th period to listen to any senior interested in joining the PSC Band. He is using this as both a scholarship audition as well as an entry audition. If you are planning to attend PSC after graduation, I highly encourage you to continue playing your instrument at the college level. He said he can listen to "anything you have ready". This can be All-County/All-State/Band audition music, an excerpt from your concert/symphonic band lit., a portion of a solo/ensemble, etc. Please let me know if you are planning to audition so I can pass the word to him.
