Greetings from the MHS Band Room,
Let me begin by once again saying how very proud we are of our Mighty Black & Gold for an outstanding performance at the 2015 FBA marching MPA at Tate High School last night! Our students earned an overall SUPERIOR rating! This performance will soon be uploaded to our YouTube channel as soon as we get the professional video recording. Thank you to all of the parents who helped make this with equipment, uniforms, and chaperoning this event.
Now, we only have one more week of "hard-corp" marching band season. This week is the last of the competition weeks for the marching band season. After this week, we will have just a little bit of time to breath as we enjoy the rest of football season and get ready for concert season.
This week, we will play host for the 3rd annual Santa Rosa County Marching Band Exhibition. All of the high schools in Santa Rosa County will be joining us at Milton High School to perform for each other for this non-judged event. Admission is FREE. You will get to see all bands march-in together and simply enjoy this wonderful art we call band! We will pull names out of a hat to determine the order of performances after the march-in. The whole thing starts at 6:30 pm. We will have a mass pizza party for all of the bands on the Panther Green at 5 pm.
This week's events:
Monday:
- 6pm-9:30pm - Full marching band rehearsal (Last monday night rehearsal for marching band!)
Tuesday:
- Santa Rosa County Band Exhibition at MHS
- 4:30 - Call time
- 5pm - Mass pizza party on the panther green for ALL marching band students
- 6:30pm - All bands march into the stadium
- 8:30ish - Event over
Wednesday:
- Jazz Bands will perform for all lunches in the cafeteria during school
Thursday:
- 4pm-6:30pm - Full marching band rehearsal
- 7pm - Spring Band Trip Meeting
Friday:
- Home Game vs Navarre (Band and ROTC Senior Night)
- Seniors will be getting info for parents to know when to be at the stadium
- 6pm - Call Time
- 7:30 - Kick-off
Saturday:
- Choctawhatchee Competition
- 11:00 am - Call time/Warm-up -
- 12:00 pm - Depart for Choctawhatchee High School
- 1:00 pm - Arrival @ Choctawhatchee High School
- 2:30 pm - Warm-up
- 3:15 pm - Perform
- 3:30 pm - Reload/ Change/ Eat lunch (Meal deal provided)
- 4:30 pm - Return to watch bands
- 6:00 pm - Meet back at Truck in FULL uniform
- 6:30 pm - Warm-Up
- 7:15 pm - PERFORMANCE
- 7:30 pm - Load Truck / Change / Return to watch last bands & concessions
- 9:00 pm - AWARDS CEREMONY
- 9:30 pm - Depart for MHS
- 10:30 pm - Arrive & Unload
- 11:00 pm - Dismiss & Go Home!
