MHSBPA Monthly Meeting - This Tuesday, we invite all band parents to the band hall at 7pm for the BPA Monthly meeting. We will be going over all the events coming up for the rest of marching season and other vital information.
Gulf Breeze Game - This Friday is our first away game. Students should have signed up for busses last week. The itinerary for this game is below. Students MUST ride the bus with the band to the game. Students are allowed to check out AFTER the end of the game after we dismiss. See Below for Check out procedures.
Check out Procedures - Students must have a note from a parent to be given to the head chaperone, Rebecca Justice, before we leave. After we dismiss from the band truck, students will grab their belongings from their bus and checkout with Mrs. Justice at bus one with your parents.
BPA Gameday Meal - The BPA is offering students a pregame meal this Friday again 3:30-5pm. This will be served in Math West 131 across from the band hall. Meal will be walking tacos (bags of Doritos or Fritos with taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, & sour cream), soft tacos, Firehouse Subs, meat and cheese tray with rolls, fruit cups, salad, brownies, and drinks.
Chaperone for Game - If you are available to chaperone the game, we could use a bit more parent help this Friday. Just CLICK HERE to signup. Mrs. Justice will be in contact with all chaperones late this week.
All-State - This Saturday, 21 of our students will be auditioning for the FMEA All-State Bands. We wish them the best of luck as they push themselves to the next level! We need help from students who are not auditioning. We have posted a signup sheet in the band room. There are 2 separate shifts, 8am-12:30 and 12:30-5pm. Jobs include Check-in Table and Hospitality/setup & breakdown. Students will need to wear a band shirt. See us for more details.
Marching Band Pictures - Please be aware that we are planning to have our full marching band and section pics taken on Monday, September 19th 4pm-5:30. Students will need to bring their uniforms to school and change immediately after 6th period.
Homecoming week - Just a heads up that homecoming week is just around the corner. This is a busy week for the MB&G. Please look ahead at our calendar so you are ready for each event.
Marching Band Competitions - As you are probably aware by now, we have had to modify our competition schedules in October. We did not have enough bands signup to perform at the Blackwater Classic this year to be able to host this. The Choctaw competition that was scheduled at the end of October also had the same issue. We have modified the schedule as follows: FBA Marching MPA at Tate HS is October 8th, Little Big Horn Competition at Opp HS, AL is October 15th, Tiger Invitational at Pensacola HS is October 22nd. We do not have schedules for these events yet as we are waiting to receive these from the hosts. Please make sure you block out the entire day for these days.
