Hello All,
I AM SO PROUD OF YOUR PERFORMANCE, STUDENTS!!!!!!!! All of your countless hours of hard work, gallons of sweat, and a little bit of blood and tears earned the Mighty Black & Gold Marching Band Straight SUPERIORS at the 2017 FBA marching MPA. What a day it was! Thank you for what you do, students. Also, a big thank you to all of the parents that helped cook lunch, drive the trucks and trailer, chaperoned, and hooted and hollered in the stands for these students on Saturday! Video should be uploaded shortly.
So, what happens now? Well, there are only a few more performances left for the marching band:
Tuesday, October 17th - Santa Rosa County Marching Band Exhibition
Friday, October 27th - Milton vs Pace Football
Saturday, October 28th - Deep South Marching Band Classic at Theodore HS, AL
Tuesday, October 31st - T.R. Jackson ES and Rhodes ES Story Book Parades (During School)
Friday, November 3rd - Milton vs Pine Forest Football
Saturday, November 11th - Veteran's Day Parade
Saturday, December 2nd - Milton Christmas Parade
This week we will perform at Navarre HS on Tuesday for the 5th annual Santa Rosa County Marching Band Exhibition. The itinerary is below. I encourage everyone to come out. This is a FREE event and is meant for all of the students to show off for each other and let us see each other's show since we do not really get a chance to see them at during the year. The Deep South Marching Band Classic at Theodore HS in Alabama is on the 28th. We are still waiting to get the performance schedule from their band director. As soon as we receive that, we will be able to put together an official itinerary for that day. Until then, I am estimating that we will leave sometime between noon and 3pm. I have been made aware of the ACT that morning. Do not worry if you are taking that test. You should be finished with that before we leave.
Finally, we will be hosting the University of Mobile Ramcorps 5th period till 3pm this Wednesday. They are an indoor marching band performance group. Students will be released at the beginning of 5th period for this performance. More info will be discussed in class.
