I hope this email finds you doing well and relaxing on this President's Day. Please read through all of the info below for this week.
Jazz MPA - A Very big CONGRATULATIONS to our own Blackwater Beats Jazz Band for an outstanding performance at Jazz MPA this past Friday! You brought the house down and earned straight superior ratings! There were so many people that were complimentary as well. Great job everyone.
MHS Parent/Career Night - This Tuesday, Milton HS will be hosting a career night. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. The BPA needs help selling concessions at this event 3:30-7:30. Students, if you would like to receive volunteer hours, please signup to help. A sign up sheet will be available in the band room on Tuesday.
Mock MPA Concert - This Friday, Avalon MS, MHS Concert Band, and MHS Symphonic Band will all be giving performances in the MHS Auditorium beginning at 6pm. This is required attendance by all students. We will have 2 adjudicators giving instant feedback to each group. Parents and family are invited to attend as this is a FREE concert.
FBA Concert MPA - The actual MPA concert will take place at Ft. Walton Beach HS next Friday, March 3rd. This is also a FREE concert and all are invited to attend and show your support for our students. Here is the itinerary for that day. This is still a work in progress and could change:
12pm – All band students eat 1st lunch
12:30 – Meet at band room
1pm – Depart for Ft. Walton Beach HS
1:45 – Arrive FWBHS and go to Auditorium to watch bands
2:15-2:45 – Watch GBHS Symphonic Band
3pm – Concert Band Warm-up
3:45 – CONCERT BAND PERFORMANCE
4:15 – Concert Band Sight Reading
4:45-5:45 - Lunch at Uptown Station
6pm-8:55 – Concert Band watch Bands perform
6:30 – Symphonic Band Warm-up
7:15 – SYMPHONIC BNAD PERFORMANCE
7:45 – Symphonic Band Sight Reading
9pm – Depart for MHS
9:45 – Arrive MHS/Unload/Dismiss
Band Trip - We will have a final trip meeting on Tuesday, February 28th at 7pm in the band room. All participants of the trip must attend. We will be going over last minute details before we depart.
Uniform Update - Congratulations! We met our goal and were able to make the deposit to have our new uniforms placed into production. Thank you to all that donated and/or spread the word. We will have a uniform sizing day on Thursday, March 9th during all band classes.
