Hello All,
Well, here we are! Competition season! We are entering the most important three weeks for the Mighty Black & Gold Marching Band. Over the next 3 Saturdays we will perform for numerous bands in competition and for ratings. We kick this season off with the 3rd Annual Blackwater Classic, but more about that in a bit.
First, WE WILL BE TAKING THE FULL MARCHING BAND AND SECTION PICTURES ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 1ST AT 5PM! Please do not forget your uniform if you are planning to stick around after school. You do not need helmets but you will need everything else. Make sure you bring a change of clothes for rehearsal immediately following.
Because the band has worked so hard over the past several weeks and we finally have the whole show on the field, we decided to go ahead and cancel the Tuesday rehearsal for this week. There is a possibility of having a rehearsal next Tuesday, the week of FBA, depending on what happens this week. They earned it!
This Friday is an away game at Crestview High School. Since it is their Homecoming, we will be performing at PREGAME at around 6:15 to 6:30. Please make sure you plan accordingly. So, this Saturday is the Blackwater Classic. The itinerary for this is below. During the lunch break, we are allowing students to leave campus to eat and nap accordingly. The BPA is offering to provide lunch for any student that decides to stay on campus and eat. The sign-up sheet is in the front of the band room. Leadership will have various meet times as they are in charge of meeting the bands and getting them where they need to go on campus.
Parents, We still need your help please!! There are several places that still need covering, most notably the concessions and the donation of items for the hospitality room. Sign-ups for these can be found below. We will have a mandatory volunteers walk-through this Thursday at 6:45. This is not for the concessions workers. Please make plans to be there:
